Yes, I agree about the photograph but what are your thoughts on the radar/visual sightings?

Gazrok's made an excellent thread about the incidents here and it appears even the U.S. Government weren't convinced about the 'temperature inversion' explanations.

I do not have an opinion on the radar/visual sightings and just accept them as reports that have no bearing on the present. I'm not technically-trained so I leave it to those with sufficient training to offer their opinion. After all, UFOlogy is rife with technical reports and they still do not provide the answers we'd like as to "What are UFOs?" "Where do they originate"? "Are they "manned" or are they comparable to RCVs"? "If they're RCVs, where are the RCs?" And stuff like that. No matter how good the technical report, we still have the same questions since day one.

Shrike, thanks for the reply and not to worry that you don't have an opinion on the Washington incidents - by all accounts they were quite interesting and its a shame that Gazrok's thread doesn't garner more attention - here's a relevant statement from a 'technically-trained' person:

"There is no other conclusion I can reach but that for six hours on the morning of the 20th of July, 1952 there were at least ten unidentifiable objects moving above Washington....I can safely deduce that they performed gyrations which no known aircraft could perform. By this I mean that our scope showed that they could make right angle turrns and complete reversals of flight".
