I watched this last night and thought this makes sense. I love the "tea bagger" hat he is wearing, but the rant is even better. If we want to cut the deficit, we need to start with the obscene military spending. Please watch the video before commenting.

Enjoy!

Sounds exactly like what Ron Paul has been saying for 30 years.
The Tea Party protesters who get interviewed on the news though are not the Ron Paul tea party members, the ones who wear those hats are the Sarah Pallin TP members who are just there because they love Palin.

I remember I started watch Bill Maher probably about 3 years ago and I enjoyed his commentary. However, I soon came to realize that Bill is so liberal for the sake of being liberal and tends to looks at issues along those lines. That led to my breakup with his logic.

However, he makes some good points in this little speech, but it isn't exactly anything new. Most Tea Partiers I know are against the war and against government spending... is this not what Mr. Maher is looking for?

As was stated, that are two branches of the Tea Party - the actual Americans who give a damn and the hijacked Republican propaganda machine. The former is the one that falls in line with what Bill Maher is "searching for" but much like everyone else, it seems the media has even swayed him into believing that all Tea Party members are racist Republicans with aspirations to see Sarah Palin as president. This ideology, this stupid notion that liberal hosts like to run with - even the ones that usual put logic and understanding before irrational thinking - is the reason the Tea Party is being seen as a bad thing.

I think usa is in all these countries, for electronic mind control purposes.

There should be no reason at all that usa in in europe, but they are, why?

But its ron paul who has said this so many times, why doesn't usa go home.

Obviously there is an anglo american empire, and american military are doing something we do not know about.

I personally think these bases etc are to do electronic mind control in all these countries.

I can't find a video clip on youtube, but I thought this was a great point made as well. The discussion is in regards to folks accusing Obama of being too far left:

What they were discussing:

As the subject on the most recent installment of "Real Time" moved to the retirement of Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, the HBO host actually said that it was the Republican Party that has changed in the past thirty or forty years and not Stevens' view of the world.

BILL MAHER, HOST: You know what's ironic is that you know who's really a moderate Republican by '70s standards? Barack Obama.

GRAYSON: It's true.

MAHER: Barack Obama, you know, I mean, I'm glad he's getting this financial reform package through but it does not include something that I think we would all think is the main point of it. I'm not an economist but I do understand the phrase "too big to fail," which means banks are just too big. Like 20 years ago the top six banks had like seventeen percent of the business of Americans and now they have like 63 percent. That bill does not address too big to fail. Just like the healthcare bill did not have a public option. It was more like the bill that Bob Dole tried to get through when he was dealing with the Clintons in 1994. A liberal Democrat so-called like Barack Obama today is really a moderate Republican of yesteryear.

I agree with 99.9% of what you said. I still think Bill Maher is a smart man, in spite of the fact that he does lean a bit too far left for my tastes. I just think that his "logical" conclusions are only as good as the information he has.

Both sides of the political spectrum are trying hard to push the propoganda that the tea party is a right-wing conservative movement. All MSM seem to trot out a picture of Sarah Palin whenever they talk about the tea party. If the truth of the tea party movement were allowed to be seen, people would realize it's comprised mainly of people who are fed up with the false left-right dog and pony show that we are being spoon fed. That could throw a wrench into the rigged two-party scam we're dealing with today. It would be harder to rig the voting machines when you can't predict the voting demographics of a particular region. Just think about the 2004 election in Florida with a third party wild card candidate. Which counties do you rig the voting machines to not count?

I doubt Maher has seriously spoken with any true tea party people. As I said, I think he would be smart enough to see that they are in line with what he preaches. He just needs to let go of the conservative / liberal bull that he is getting from CNN, FOX, and MSNBC, and talk to real people who don't have party affiliations.

I'm from the Netherlands.

Our government says we need to cut expences.
They come up with a million things to raise taxes to pay their debt without cutting expences.

We "they say" need a new fighter plane. The F-16 is out dated.
We have to get the joint strike fighter.

A plane which is already outdated and second to what is already available.
Like the Raptor.

If they would not get this plane there is no longer a need to cut expences.

I'm not even mentioning they got us in to this bloody mess in the first place. The Betuwe line, a billion dollar project what ended up in a multi billion dollar project and there still are no trains using it.
Bail outs for banks, 34 million flu vaccines. For only 16 million people where a big part was not even going to get it anyway.

I say. Of with their heads ! But... who am I ?
