Well a new Apple iPhone 4g was left in a bar by an Apple engineer who was testing it out. I wonder if he is still employed!

The first time the public usually gets a glimpse of a new product from Apple it is in the hands of Steve Jobs at a heavily choreographed launch event.

But the iPhone 4G has accidentally been unveiled by an Apple employee who left his test device in a bar.

Gray Powell, 27, is reported by technology blog Gizmodo to have left the phone on a bar stool before it fell into the hands of another drinker at Gourmet Haus Staudt in Redwood City, California and found its way to the blog.

Although all Apple products are heavily protected prior to launch, the company allows its software engineers to test products outside its laboratories.

iPhone 4g

So he got drunk and left behind a phone that nobody has seen outside of Apple, the new iPhone 4g. I know most people in the Apple world cant wait to see this phone, well now you can.
I am a huge Apple fan and I love what they have done to it. Now it has flash! Woohoo, it's about time
It also has a video camera in the front so you can do things like video Skype! I can't wait to get my hands on one. The casing is different as well, the back is supposedly glass which I read is supposed to help with better reception.

Here is the link to the original blog about this. There are more pics here as well if you are interested. Only a Mac geek would see my excitement

Here are some new features that were noticed.

What's new

• Front-facing video chat camera
• Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS)
• Camera flash
• Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad)
• Improved display. It's unclear if it's the 960x640 display thrown around before—it certainly looks like it, with the "Connect to iTunes" screen displaying much higher resolution than on a 3GS.
• What looks to be a secondary mic for noise cancellation, at the top, next to the headphone jack
• Split buttons for volume
• Power, mute, and volume buttons are all metallic

LOVE the flash and video chat cam!!

Thanks Gizmodo for the pics.

I don't think it will hurt Apple in any way, it might help make it more popular..if that is even possible!

Haha, funny story of how he found it. But I remember a story while back where a man lost his prototype and apple was accused of "torturing" the man to get it back. Think how angry they are now haha.
It has a retro feel to it, and not as curvy. But its that software that counts.
Cant wait to see if this is real or fake.

Well gizmodo paid $5k to get the phone and then they returned it to Apple after they were sent a letter asking for it to be returned. The only thing Gizmodo requested was that the employee not be punished lol

I like the way it looks and it isnt as round, which is the first thing I noticed.

Meh. There still wont be Flash support. Carriers will still push mandatory "data" plans.

All they did was flip the camera around.

Apple has dragged on the "rip off as many nerds as we can as quickly as we can" model long enough.

For a company with a supposedly "green" image they sure like to forcibly obsolete their toxic products pretty damn fast.

... If you read the original Gizmodo article, then you'd see where it was assembled...

maybe they need a new feature to alert you to when your i pod is left behind.

say a small key fob that can attach to it. so when out and about if your ipod get to far away from the fob (attached to your keys / wallet) it sounds an alarm.

then when inside you just clip the fob back onto the ipod
