Plain horse doo doo.
Most comments are from people who never been to Dongguan or China for that matter.
34 pennies (I'm assuming that's what 34p stood for) a day? Where the hell do they get info like that?
I work for an OEM/ODM manufacturer similar to the one you see making Microsoft's products. I'm telling you, right now the information present is
incorrect and has a sick twist to intentionally attack Microsoft or other manufacturers.
China is dealing with major labor shortage issues right now, also the increase of worker salary. Current average worker in our factory earns about
1800 RMB a month. That's like roughly $10 to $13 USD per day, I know it's not much to us, but it's definitely not 34 pennies. Foxconn doesn't even
pay their workers 34 pennies a day... come on now..
The image provided basically shows all the workers taking a 10 to 30min. nap for working extra hour shifts. A perk that the company offers their
employees. And stop with the 15 hour shift crap, the workers are "HAPPY" getting the overtime, you understand that? Not all people are lazy
Americans who complains about working a 9 to 5 job.
Guys, here's the difference k? In America, if you tell me to work overtime, I would get pissed off. I don't want the 1.5x pay, I just want to go
home and pop a beer and watch the game. Some people, like a lot of illegal immigrant workers here, they "LOVE" overtime. They actually want to work
a 12 hour shift every day, because they're happy with the big ass pay check at the end of the month.
Besides, someone already hit the spot on a previous post. You know, Chinese citizens actually fight over jobs like these. They are very lucky if they
can even get into one of these high-tech factories. Do you know what their alternatives are? Of course you don't, you never lived or probably never
even been to China.
In China, it's all about getting into a good high school then getting into a good college. You only get one shot in life, well when you have 1.3
billion people.. what do you expect right? High School exams determines your future. You flunk, can't get into a good college, your life is pretty
much over. There is no such thing as going back to Community College at 32 then transferring to a 4 year University. That doesn't happen.
So if you didn't do well in school, when you get into the real world, you don't have much options. You can open your own store if you're rich
enough, but generally that's not going to happen since everyone is poor. Your alternative would be selling crap on the street curb, you name it, be
it fish worms, vegetables or clothing. Swap meet for life, making maybe 100x less money compared to getting a job in these so called "Sweat
Shops".
You say poor them? I say poor us for being stupid and not understanding how their world works. Then come screaming human right violations from half
way across the friggin' globe, minding other people's business.
Another reason why U.S. is hated amongst the world. We keep getting ourselves into sh*t that we just don't fully understand.
