event WHILE revealing the AGE of CIVILIZATION. Not the Stone Age or the

type of world we lived in
during 1999?


The quatrain deals with the all-embracing nature of
technology and science
in human affairs and their destructive and repressive
use. It refers to a
specific stage of human technological and scientific
development, a phase of
human civilization called the "SPACE AGE."


Is there something unique in that quatrain which links
it to 1999 and is
found during no other time in human history?

Spaceships have been sent to Mars for quite a while.
BUT IN *ONE* YEAR
(1999) *TWO* SPACESHIPS WERE DESTROYED *ON* MARS.
(i.e., The year

spacecraft designed to be NASA's first
interplanetary weather satellite was presumed
lost on Mars Thursday after it failed to regain
contact with Earth following a critical engine
firing to place it in orbit around the red

Orbiter made too close an approach to the
planet and likely broke into pieces or burned
up in

"Jardin du monde" = Garden of Eden or

"Hanging Gardens of Babylon," which are

both located in Iraq.

"Cite neufue" = New York City.

(i.e., Iraq near New York City).

Which implies that Iraq is somehow

involved in the September 11 attacks. The

"hollow mountains" links time, place, and

action of the prophecy. The "hollow

mountains" is Nostradamus' description

of the two skyscrapers of the WTC.

"In the path of the hollow mountains"

means what comes after the WTC

destruction.



Seized and plunged in the "Cuue"

(i.e., in Renaissance French, a fermentation

cauldron used for mixing chemicals,

poisons, etc) is a reference to the seizures

and drowning effects of a

chemical/biological attack and/or modern day plague.

Notice "Cuue" is capitalized in the original quatrain

(SEE ABOVE) to show that this is the most

important element in the quatrain.



The poisoning of the water mentioned here

is of an entirely different nature, as boiling

the water or bottled water--if it were meant

literally--could eliminate the poison.

But this poisoning is far more serious as it

cannot be avoided (i.e., forced to drink).

The drowning effects of pulmonary

anthrax or some other chemical/biological

poison is implied.

Sulfur is a symbolic reference to brimstone

(i.e., The Wrath of God). Water is the way

God destroys man during the "Flood."


Century X, Quatrain 66


Le chef de Londres par regne l'Americh,
L'isle d'Escosse t'empiera par gel�e :
Roy Rebauront un si faux Antechrist,

The chief of London through the realm of AMERICA,
The Isle of Scotland will be tried by frost:
King Reb will face an Antichrist so false,
That he will place them in the conflict all together.


There are only "two" quatrains that mention the
Antichrist specifically (X,66 & VIII,77).
There is only "one" specific reference to America
found in the quatrains (X,66).


The Antichrist's main target of destruction is
"America" (i.e., he will exercise his destructive
power through the realm of America).



THE EARTHSHAKER:

Century I, Quatrain 87

Earthshaking fire from the centre of the Earth
will cause tremors around the new city.
Two great rocks will war for a long time,
then Arethusa will redden a new river.

This is a prophecy of a monster quake that
will strike America in the very foreseeable
future. The "earthshaking fire from the center
of the Earth" is about underground
tectonic activity which causes violent
shaking at the surface of the Earth.
This earthquake which hits the "new city"
will be the Big One, perhaps the great quake
that is expected from the San Andreas Fault
in California.

The "two great rocks will war for a
long time" could describe the continuous
collision and force of gigantic tectonic plates
as they press against each other over time,
and the immense energy that is generated
within the Earth from this constant pressure,
and the sudden release.

The final line mentions the classical
Greek nymph Arethusa who transforms
herself in to a spring. The last three letters of
her name are USA, and this provides the
place of the prophecy (i.e., ArethUSA will
redden a new river). It appears that the
"new city" melts in to the ocean, therefore
the new city of Los Angeles would be
plunged in to the Pacific Ocean as a result of
this earthquake.

This quatrain may be linked to the earth-
quake found in IV,66, and therefore will be
part of the destructive sequence of acts that
the Antichrist launches against America.


THE GAMES OF SLAUGHTER:

Century X, Quatrain 74

Au reuolu du grand nombre septiesme,
Apparoistra au temps ieux d'Hecatombe:
Non esloign, du grand aage milliesme,
Que les entrez sortiront de leur tombe.


The year of the great seventh number accomplished,
It will appear at the time of the games of slaughter:
Not far from the great millennial age,
When the buried will go out from their tombs.



In his preface to his son Caesar, Nostradamus states
they were living in the seventh millenary. If that is the
case, the "year of the great seventh number" would
be accomplished with the the arrival of the eighth
millenary in 2001. The appearance of "IT" seems to
imply the *revelations* of the Antichrist. The "games of
slaughter" refer to the summer Olympics held at Athens (2004).

During the ancient Olympics held in Greece
sacrifices of animals were made to the gods to
ensure a successful games. The Olympics were
considered times when enemies would put aside
their weapons and compete in sports rather than
on the battlefield. The "games of slaughter" could be
a sinister twist of this ancient peacemaking activity
of the Olympics, and will signify the beginning of
global conflict and war between the participants (WWIII).

The final line of the prophecy points to a specific act
of destruction rather than to the resurrection of the
dead which would occur at the end of time. Rather
than the dead coming up to the living, it seems more
likely the buried living will go down to the dead.
Perhaps the drowning or suffocating effects from a
biological/chemical attack, implied in X.49,
is meant here.

To counter the claims that Nostradamus wrote vague and abstract prophecies that can be twisted to fit any event. To counter the claims that Nostradamus can be understood only AFTER the event has occurred. To counter the hoaxes and the mutilations that have been spread in Nostradamus' name. To counter all the claims that paranormal phenomena do not exist.

I`m concerned about the prophecie reguarding the Aegean sea that is predicted for august 2004.Some sites belive he refers to a meteorite but in the currant climate the possibility that he predicted a terrorist Attack on the Olympic games is more likely.

Over time I have gone from fascination to annoyance with Nostradamus fans, but I do my best to hear ideas out still. Please post quotes or cite the quatrains so that I don't have to take your word for it. A short time at ATS has taught me to ALWAYS check sources with a fine tooth comb if you take an issue seriously.
