Reguarding the volcanic ash....
The plume is so high that it will neither be visible nor pose a threat to the health of humans on the ground, although Dr Rothery added that we may have a "spectacularly red sunset" on Thursday evening.

Here's a LINK to your story. Will be interesting to see how far away these "spectacular sunsets" are seen. I know that for where I live, the most spectacular are after a hurricane or tropical storm, presumably from remaining water vapor in the air.
