So its actually only Europeans at this particular resort that don't tip?

I'm European.... and to be honest I'm not much of a tipper..

I will tip I guess, But I'm already being overcharged/ripped off in the price, so I never leave a lot... and certainly not a flat rate/percentage.
And I know that it's for the Waiters/Waitresses as they don't make much and many live off tips.... But man, there are much needier people in the world that Waiting staff.

Tipping is not as bi a deal in The UK/Europe as it is in the states, We're much more mean/stingy in that respect.

Point is, Dont bother staying at a 5 star resort where gratuity is NOT INCLUDED!! If you feel overcharged or ripped off stay at the super 8 down the road. And if your so concerned about the poor people suffering in the world, WTF are you doing staying at a 5 star resort in the first place. Hypocrite!!!

Well in my books you get a tip if you deserve it... not because you demand it, if you demand it, you don't get one... simple

gratuity [grəˈtjuːɪtɪ] n pl -ties 1. (Business / Commerce) a gift or reward, usually of money, for services rendered; tip 2. something given without claim or obligation 3. (Military) Military a financial award granted for long or meritorious service

A better question is, why does anyone tip?

Staff are paid a wage; customers should not have to pay it twice. It sucks that American servers get paid crap wages, but that will never change as long as customers are suckers and do it for the employer.

All I know is this, Germans do not tip because in Germany the tip is already included in the bill.

Perhaps these people do not realize that in the USA gratuity is not included.

Or they do and they are cheapskates!

You might want to let them know in a polite way that in the USA the gratuity is not included and you'd appreciate a tip if they feel your service was deserving of it.

Then if they do not tip you, you will know exactly what they think of your service!
