Hi All

I am putting together a fairly ambitious webpage - to be part of my own personal little site - which will feature Garfield cartoons in multiple languages. So far I have English (obviously), Portuguese (which I know a *tiny* bit of) and Esperanto (which I have read about five lessons of).

If ANYONE knows any foreign languages (Klingon et al considered too!), and wishes to volunteer their translating skills, please contact me! My hope is to have a kind of Rosetta Stone of Garfield cartoons, and maybe other cartoons at a later date.

Ah, I see! Shame... Would have been so cool to read Garfield in Klingon (would be able to make head nor tail of it, but it'd be cool nonetheless!) !!

I would suggest Mezzofanti (or something like that), it's a web-based translator (and free) with dozens of languages... Didn't have time to dig up a link for you..sorry....but I use it all the time, just not on this computer....

Gazrok: Thanks, I had thought of using translation websites like BabelFish, etc, but they don't give an accurate translation. It's a lot better (though more work) for me to 'collaborate' with a group of volunteers. It may be hosted on my site but it is (or will be) the work of many people, all credit to them.

specialasianX: Thanks!
Where is Malay spoken? Malasia? Do you have a flag image? I'm gonna email u on ur msn address too...

drunk: Do you want to volunteer your skills in Cantonese?

Thanks again for the replies

Yeah I'm in the same position. It gets better every time I go to visit Hong Kong, but once I get back to Australia it just all goes down the drain.

I minored in German - I'm not all that great at speaking it, but I can read and listen to it and understand it perfeclty fine....funny how things like that work - I know how and why it happens, but still interesting...

D - that avatar is hilarious!!!! Is that real or photoshopped??
