So glad you are here - I was about to try to hunt you down!

All day today She's been doing that 'I'm too quiet for my own good' thing. Then, this afternoon She started putting out some ash/fume/etc - and I was actually a little relieved.

Now? There's more She's putting out for sure - and has that eery quiet thing going on as I said before. I hope it's nothing but let's keep our eyes open.

You know what she is like, she hates being nudged. You had a small quake two days ago which is always a warning sign.

For the math people, in todays day and age,,
an interesting Formula for Energy Release.

Eth = VxdxTxK (from the Dynamics of Volcanism)

Eth is in Joules
V=volume in cubic kilo meters.
d=specific gravity (1.0)
T=temp. of Ejecta (500 degress Centigrade
K=Constant including the specific heat of the magma,
and the mechanical equivilent of heat,(8.37x10*to the 14th power,),,

thus the thermal energy released during the 79 A.D eruption was or approximately,,
2x10*too the 18th power Joules.

Finally clear weather! I can see Her for the first time in ages and She's completely covered in snow - just beautiful. But She's far far too quiet for my good.

Shes having a little fit at the moment. Post the earthquake data in a while. Stats are not showing accurate readings at the moment. Will be back soon as I am taking snow photos.

Lately she has been showing Ash emission and weak Strombolian activity which could be a precursor to a new paroxysmal eruptive episode. Her chart are up and down like a yoyo at the moment. Here is an example of one of the quakes at the moment.

I saw or heard nothing from last night - I'll go and look what time because I checked her late - there was a full moon and with the snow she was beautiful. There is some small activity this morning - pics in the camera and I'll post them once I re-size. I wish I hadn't of missed her last night!

It's my opinion She is entering a new phase. It's only my word and feeling but She has changed. Don't ask me to explain how - it's nothing I can point a stick at - just gut.

She's erupting a little right now - I don't know if it's going to turn big or not.

Checked again - She's still at it - but very slowly - just a nice gentle 'let go' of ash/steam and... I don't see lava yet, but, the light makes it difficult at the moment...

Lovely photos, yes, this is her new mood for 2012. She had a tiny episode about an hour ago. I will post the chart in a minute. There is a show of lava there, but not all the time. Watching very closly at the moment as there is another rise in the data.
