This is an excellent article from the Daily Bell that I recommend everyone read. It seems to capture the spirit of many popular themes here on ATS.

"Diplomacy has failed," Sen. Chuck Schumer (pictured left with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu), D-N.Y., told AIPAC, "Iran is on the verge of becoming nuclear and we cannot afford that." ... "We have to contemplate the final option," said Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., "the use of force to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon." War is a "terrible thing," said Sen. Lindsay Graham, R-S.C., but "sometimes it is better to go to war than to allow the Holocaust to develop a second time." Graham then describes the war we Americans should fight: "If military force is ever employed, it should be done in a decisive fashion. The Iran government's ability to wage conventional war against its neighbors and our troops in the region should not exist. They should not have one plane that can fly or one ship that can float." Danielle Pletka of the American Enterprise Institute, Neocon Central, writes, "The only questions remaining, one Washington politico tells me, are who starts it, and how it ends." As to who starts it, we know the answer. Teheran has not started a war in memory and is not going to launch a suicide attack on a superpower with thousands of nuclear weapons. As with Iraq in 2003, the war will be launched by the United States against a nation that did not attack us -- to strip it of weapons it does not have. – Human Events

In short, to answer your question.. yes.. it almost has to happen given our current leadership and the power structure that they are struggling to retain in the world. Don't be fooled anyone, Obama doesn't call this one, so it doesn't matter if he's a push over..

gear up..

Even if Israel stays at home like a good little puppy, Iran will develop a nuke and once they do, they will feel like their stones are then big enough to begin rolling them around the neighborhood. Iran is no more a nation of peace than is Israel so... there will be a shooting war between them regardless.

Once this begins, Israel (as well as many other middle eastern nations) will be flying US made jets, dropping US made bombs so... no matter whose symbol is painted on the side of a fuselage, it will all be traced back here.

We will become a defacto participant.

Of course, we could give the fruitcake in Tehran and the the one in Jerusalem each a gun and let them settle it to their personal preference. That would save countless lives but... it is never the high and mighty that end up fighting them.

I think for us its far too late to do anything, than just observe how its done.

Preparations are already done - now its only last step to witness... Any moment is the right answer - which can be week, month, or even another year - but that wont change the fact = war will come.

Allowing Gaza war to happen - do you remember the silence of Obama? - Whole war was a clear sign that decission about war against Iran was already done.

Just pick up two another great sign how close we are... (getting evidence is easier than ever before)

Why week, month or even a year? - It needs two to tango, and both sides needs to make many preparations before they are ready... Problem for Israel to wage wars has been that no-one have had any army to raise against theirs - thats why both sides will give to each others all the needed time.

"Let us know when you are ready!"

Yes - War has rules - preparations in both sides are most important part of every war.

Huge Weapons Cache Found in Sinai

(IsraelNN.com) Egyptian troops found a huge weapons cache in central Sinai early on Thursday morning, according to the Egyptian daily Al-Yaum As-Sabach. The cache contained an estimated 100 anti-aircraft missiles, 45 missile launchers, 40 bombs, and more.

It is not yet clear where the weapons were from, or what their owners intended to do with them. However, troops suspect that the weapons were gathered by Sinai Bedouin who intended to smuggle them into Gaza.

The US begins "seen and unseen" profiling of air travelers

While trying hard to avoid admitting to "profiling," the Obama administration has introduced new measures for screening US-bound air travelers based on how closely their personal characteristics match intelligence on potential terrorists. Nationality, age, certain physical characteristics, recently visited countries and partial (Muslim-sounding) names will be used alongside the no-fly list to step up flight security.

To answer your initial question: No. Nothing is inevitable.

Nevertheless, some things are more likely than others, and I think a preemptive strike on Iran is a significant probability. Such a strike, however, is problematic for the instigator.

If it's the US, then there will be at a minimum significant diplomatic retaliations and possible proxy wars with a possibility of sponsorship by the SCO.

If Israel takes the initiative, then the global impact will be perhaps initially less compared to the US making a strike. I say initially, because over the long term, I think it will turn out to be a major Pandora's Box, with a great deal more complications for the West in terms of strained alliances and increased terrorist attacks.

Either way, if it does happen, it's going to be a huge mess for the whole world. There is already too much political and economic entanglement on both sides of the fence, to make it anything less.

I completely agree. It's not a matter of "will there be a war", it's a matter of "when will it happen"?

TPTB will already have the plans on the table. All this nonsense of Israel falling out with the U.S. and Obama shunning Netanyahu in Washington. It's all MSM spiel.

Behind closed doors those ruthless leaders will have a plan drawn up and finalised.

when will it happen? .........When it suits the U.S. the most of course.

America may very soon suffer total economic collapse, anarchy, and martial law.

The US administration may be faced with higher priorities than starting a third war front, which will set the whole Middle East ablaze.

What the Zionists fanatics demand of America may soon become irrelevant as all the fraud and corruption of government quickly unravels.

Patriots in the Pentagon and Intelligence Services may just say no to the politicians.

I think that it will happen within the next week or two. The planned protests scheduled for April 19 will be the boiling point. The troops and other assets might not be put in place by then, but the false flag attack will happen, Nobama will announce that Iran is to blame and an emergency plan will be trotted out to invade and the call-ups of various military forces will be broadcast. Then, there will be anti-healthcare reform protesters, pro-Restore America demonstrators, pissed off people who lost their unemployment benefits AND newly invigorated anti-war protesters. (And some 9/11 truthers just because of the general protest momentum that will invariably suck them in.)

They will get out in the streets and do their thing, a few government ringers will stir them up, things will get ugly and before Anderson Cooper can stutter out the words, here comes martial law. (And Anderson Cooper DOES stutter, it's his only real skill, because it's obviously an affectation!!!)

Our military will descend on Iran, there will be some shock and awe bombing and then finally things will move to cannon range, and then to rifle range, and then to knife range. This will spark off such a conflagration across the world that we will not see an end to this war in our lifetime, and by the time it does end, the few survivors will not remember who started it or why.

Not so sure.

Another Mosad inspired false flag would be the last straw.

Nobody except the most rabid Zionist stooge would believe Iran would deliberately set about provoking America in such an obvious way.

The American public are slowly waking up.

You underestimate the NWO's tendency to underestimate the intelligence of the sheeple. And yes, most of them are indeed still dumb animals. Just because you've been exposed to the people here on ATS who are up on what is happening, don't think for a moment that the rest of the idiots will be too busy watching the boob tube to figure out what is REALLY going on. Granted, it will need to be bigger and badder than 9/11 (IMHO) to produce the right amount of fear, but it's coming. Soon...

Thanks so much for your input Xcouncil. Whilst I'm familiar with the article, I appreciate the link. I'm living in China at the moment, and so I tend to take an interest in anything 'global-strategic'.

I think there is a level of politeness involved in the Sino-Israel exchange. Israel is viewed in many spheres as nothing more than a proxy of the US, and I'm sure China sees it that way.

Whilst I don't see China as overly-militant, the SCO dynamic does worry me, as it does bring new - and worrisome - variables to the global-strategic table.

Having said that, I don't think for a minute, the SCO want a conflict with the US. Nevertheless, when nationalism and political brinkmanship test egos, sometimes, unfortunate things happen.

Personally, I would put the chances of an attack on Iran at about 80% If China agrees with sanction over the coming weeks then it might postpone it for a while.

Including naval and aircrews, the US must have, what? 200,000 personnel in the Middle East? To chase a few guys through caves or the backstreets of Baghdad? I think the US has known from the beginning that Iran would have to be dealt with eventually. And that's not even mentioning the Israel factor...

Unless there's a polar shift in Iranian, US and Israeli politics at some point, a conflict is almost certain.

And as for the argument that it would be too costly (economically, no oil coming out of the Straights, China not allowing it, etc) well we almost faced nuclear Armageddon in the 60's due to nukes being placed in tactical positions that upset the US. And guess what - the US was being hypocritical then as well seeing as they had a bunch of nukes sitting on Russia's doorstep!

There's an excellent article at Veterans Today..

GORDON DUFF: BUSH TERROR WAR NOTHING BUT “COVER,” TERROR LEADERS A MYTH.

What else have we been lying about?

I think of the stress the press goes through suppressing the videos of dead children and destroyed schools in Gaza. “Branding” Palestinians as terrorists and Israelis as victims is turning into an almost impossible task, nearly as impossible as keeping the lid on 9/11 or inventing Iran’s nuclear program. Only a few weeks ago, we were busy telling the world how Pakistan’s nuclear weapons were ready to be seized by terrorists. What happened to that story? Where do the “fairy tales” of the mainstream news go when they get so ridiculous that they become an embarrassment?

I'm watching NBC "Meet The Press" on delay here in Australia...

That Zionist bastard Joe Lieberman made it clear in no uncertain terms he was in favor of a US-led military strike on Iran's nuclear facilities if it doesn't do what USrael wants...And he made it abundantly clear this may well happen sooner rather than later...

This man makes me
If the T&C weren't what they are here I'd have a lot more to say about him, believe me...This prick is prepared to kill and maim tens of thousands of people with radioactive contamination all because USrael doesn't want Iran to have nuclear weapons...

USrael sucks the biggie...If Iran's nuclear facilities are taken out and people suffer radioactive contamination, I hope improvised radioactive weapons are used in USrael to give their citizens a taste of what they inflicted on the Iranian people

Miserable little Israel is only strutting it's stuff on the world stage, because America supports Israel politically, financially, and militarily.

If the US sees a revolution, where a large section of the military defect from government control, the blanket protection Israel now has from big brother America, could suddenly disappear.

Opinion: Surf's UP!

The driving force behind the acceleration of events is due entirely to the propagation of truth. As generations of lies are shown to be what they are, their ability to modulate social conduct evaporates..

Confidence in governmental institutions is falling as these inconvenient truths propagate through society like shockwaves from a blast.

My 1861 unabridged defines "apocalypse" as "when all secrets are revealed"
This is the real "shock and awe"

How does it feel to be surfers on the event horizon of the apocalypse??
