Alien planet hunter develops a blind spot

OUR best eye on alien worlds has developed a blind spot. NASA's planet-hunting telescope Kepler has developed a fault that means it sees the equivalent of static in some parts of its view.

Kepler launched Movie Camera in 2009 to hunt for planets orbiting other stars. Many giant planets on tight orbits have already been found, but the telescope's main aim is to find Earth-sized planets orbiting their stars at distances that can support the presence of liquid water and potentially life.

It appears 1 of keplers modules is malfunction and will create a blind spot on all pictures.

Filled with static ... good news is they say could be repairable.

I await the barrage of photos with people peering into static swearing they see Alien spaceships and intergalactic destruction fleets.

However the conspiracy theorist in me says .. "How very convenient .. a spot to hide stuff"

Can't wait to see peoples photos and analysis to come on them ... blind spot and all

kwel, maybe the ETs are jamming are signal since we're not allowed to see what's out there, since we're still bunch of monkeys killing each other in so called 21st centenary!

The 'hiding things' theory will probably kick off if the 'static blind spot' moves around, and doesn't stay localised. And rightly so.
