Here is what is going on, and what is bothering me.

Before I list links, what bothers me is that even if Bush is the evil man people say he is, there are still 138,000 Heroes of Civilization over in Iraq from several excellent countries doing an incredible job for an oppressed culture and nation. Yet, you people can sit here all day and clamour about how bad Bush is and not once raise a hand in support of new schools for the children. Even if some of these people fail at what they are trying, at least they are trying.

My point, instead of raising your internet voices about how bad Bush is, why can't we all support the rebuilding of Iraq's schools and culture, their rights to freedom just as we have. That is all I ask. Maybe Bush is bad, that does not make what the troops are doing in Iraq bad.

So, I apologize, it has been a while a while since I have looked up all of the rebuilding efforts, but here are some interesting things I noticed.

Whether you agree with Bush or not, at least maybe we all can agree that there are honest people in Iraq trying to make a difference.

Ok, i dont hate bush, some of the things happening in IRAQ are good, but there are also bad things happening. For example the "stray" missiles that are landing in families homes. Also these pictures that are coming out. IF these are true than the things the troops in iraq ARE BAD. I'm not judging everry troop by these pictures, but that doesnt mean they should be ignored.

Also, if bush is trying so hard to make such a difference to the people, why is he pulling out now? There is much more work to be done, which cannot be done in the few months left.

Good points, SuperKyle. Unfortunately, I have no answers. I can only surmise that it's easier to Bush-bash than it is to face the realities at hand? A lot of screwed up things have happened in the world over the last couple of years, and I really do think that there's some bizarre societal psychosis/denial complex going on.

For the life of me, I can't figure out any other explanation as to why people put not only their own survival, but the very survival of civilized humanity in such a low priority in favor of blaming everything bad on one man.

My question is this--if, by some bizarre twist of fate, Bush gets ousted and Kerry (or Nader even, for argument's sake) gets in office, what then? What is going to be the next excuse for the world's current suckiness once Bush is (theoretically) gone?

I didn't ask you to give your opinion on what "We" (the american people, the people of other nations, or our troops who have no clue of what they are fighting for) need to do about this situation. I asked you to explain your views of what the situation is. What is this war about? Realistically!

As for our support, how do you know who is making what efforts to support the Iraqi people and help re-build their nation? It's kind of presumtive of you to make a blanket statement like that.

As far as I am concrned, I wouldn't send one dime to help out. Mainly because I feel the actions which caused these people to be in their current situation is a farse. Also, I feel the Iraqi people, and the new government will con't to receive aid from the US, so in essence I am already helping. Lastly, I won't CTC (cut the check) to help re-build the iraqi school systems, until the US school systems are drastically improved.

Here we have another patriot wanting to help improve other nations situations, while ignoring those right here at home. I say, let Bush pay to rebuild their school systems. He's got enough money.

My realistic view is this, and I appreciate you being considerate, thank you.

The only way to end this war on terror, is the same way we defeated the Russians in the cold war. We told everybody else in the world that capitalism is the only way to go. The idea is to get Iraq bursting with Iraqi pride and freedom. When the people of Iraq are free, just as we are, the people of Iraq will not desire to join in any terrorist activity. Some could debate this and I could see some arguing, but not for long.

Within time, the other countries of the middle east would have to follow suit, that is the way of history.

First, America was free, then came England, then France, then Spain and so on until Russia could not go on any further. So the idea is to get Iraq to be free so that they will want to concentrate on terrorists in their own country.

Terrorism spreads the same way communism and capitalism spreads, by people spreading the ideas. The reason freedom
(capitalism or true freedom) always wins is that with true freedom, people just don't feel like going out to die even if they think they will get 20 virgins for it. They would rather play their playstations and drink beer.

Invading Iraq was sound strategy for defeating terrorism, just as spreading the ideas of capitalism was in the 60's 70's and 80's.

Unfortunately this will ultimately lead to a one world nation that is so popular around here, but I will tell you this about Bush;
an old friend of mine is an old weightlifting friend of Bush, this is someone I know and trust, he told me that there is no evil behind the scenes at all but that Bush is just plain mad at Al-Quida and the likes of them. He told me that he knew things behind the scenes that he couldn't even tell me. He did say this though, "there is a definite need to get Saddam out of there."

We wouldnt have to rebuild anything if Bush hadnt gone in Iraq!! And the troops choose to go there not because they are forced...

The schools were crap before we went in, funny thing is,
before the mid 80's Iraq's schools were considered top notch. He totally screwed over the educational system and everything else their.

We are not responsible for the school destruction. Saddam did that all on his own, but Bush is the bad guy for giving the children a chance.

Terrorist are going to be in that country not matter what, in other to eliminate terrorist I guess we will have to eliminate the entire Arab nation because you can not tell one from the other. An neither the administration.
