Just got this little blurb in my e-mail:

"The National Communications System reports that there will be scheduled network maintenance by Research in Motion affecting 100 percent of Blackberry Internet Service customers in North America, regardless of carrier between 0200 EDT and 0600 EDT on Sunday 28 Mar 10. Customers may be unable to send/receive/view email and attachments during this period."

Hmm...seems like TPTB are testing to see how effectively they can shut down national communications during a so-called massive "event". Helps to keep all of those kooky Tea party/Survivalist/Conspiracy Theorist/Fringer domestic terrorists seperate and contained!!

Alls I can say is that there is no need for it lol. But the government says (if i recall) they want to do this sort of information regulation only for emergency periods so that people wouldnt be eating up bandwith and they can direct it to other purposes or whatever

It is simply a software update on their servers. Their BIS servers are upgrading to 3.0 software which allows for more synchronization with cloud services.

Based on the spate of outages this year to date, wouldn't that be POS servers???
