Xould someone please explain in detail how to extract a quote from a post

Could someone please explain, step-by-step, exactly how to take a quote from someone's reply to a post and put it in my reply?

just copy and paste their text, before you paste the text, before the
beginning of the quote do this:

[this] except put the word "quote" in between the brackets. post your text. At the end of the text put the same brackets but with a slash like [/this] but with the word "quote" after the slash (within the brackets). Hope this helps!

Look in the upper right hand corner of the post frame.
In it you will see the word "Quote".

Just click that and it does it for you.
It is the fastest and easiest way.

You can also type [*quote] at the beginning of the text you want to quote and [*/quote] at the end to do this.

Please ignore the star (*) in the brackets though, I used it for demonstration purposes. It is not needed.

Or you could just hit the quote button in the upper right hand corner of the post box.

click on the ["quote" button at the top right hand corner of the post you want to quote.

You will then see something that looks like:

square bracket quote square bracket.

Anything you leave between the quote at the start, and slash quote at the end, comes up as a quote.

Just make sure you don't post super long quotes with that method, because that can violate T&C. If you are responding to a super long post, but only wish to address a specific point, you'll have to use my option to quote the specific point, or just delete some of the text that isn't needed in that quote/s. .

While your method works, I've never used it for quotes at all. It just seems easier to me to click the quote button and delete the unwanted text than to add typing to a copy and paste operation.
