Google Inc.’s decision to redirect its mainland users to an uncensored Hong Kong site is a “deliberate plot” to promote the “intrusive strategy” of the U.S. government under the guise of supporting a free Internet, a researcher affiliated with China’s Cabinet wrote.

A Chinese official believes that it's a conspiracy ... the strategy by which Google is working on behalf of the American government in order to promote a free Internet ... that explains the Internet juggernaut's abandonment of mainland China ...

Okay. How dare them.

China probably needs to come up with a better justification for why Google left other than the inability to promote a free Internet. I mean, it almost sounds bizarre. I guess the "working in cahoots with the U.S. Government" is the thing, but still. Might as well proclaim, "Free Internet Sucks, All Your Website Are Belong To Us!"
