What about people on medicade and low income familys will the government take care of them or what?

I don't even make $2000.00 a month and a my wife is disabled and does not work and we have 2 kids, I can't afford to pay for health care.

I barely get by and have hardly have enough extra to spend on my kids now.

We are on medicade but get no food stamps we don't need them but what about Health Care will they still have medicade?

Medicaid is being expanded so more people can be covered by it. It's going up to 133% of the poverty level, and the federal government is going to give money to the states to help them pay for it. That's in 2014 when the majority of the bill kicks in. If you're already on Medicaid, you'll probably be fine and won't notice a difference. Here's a good timeline to read:

Well you're just gonna have to wait and find out, like Pelosi said. Even they don't know what is in the bill, that is why they had to pass it to see what is in it.

Whatever is in there, I'm 100% sure it's not going to be good, socialism never is.

For cryin' out loud, that is not what she meant! She meant that it would demonstrate its positive points to people who are afraid. They know exactly what's in it, and if you would bother to actually look into it, you could too. If no one knew what was in it, then it could never be instituted. Laws are not these magical things which just take over the world as soon as they're passed -- they need someone who knows their contents to enforce them!!!

Oh good, someone who finally knows what's in this monstrosity of a bill that's longer than War and Peace. How long did it take you to read it?

Oh, I didn't read it. I have trouble reading even one page of legalese. It's the abbreviations that get me, mostly. I'm just saying that it's entirely possible to know what's in it.

Slipknot, I feel for ya bud. I'm disabled too and I have no idea what this will all mean for me. I qualify for medicaid but haven't started yet and while I;m on private insurance right now I'm afraid to switch over because if I had to pay out of pocket for prescriptions they would cost me over $700 a month.
We're also getting ready to move to a town where our current insurance doesn;t have any providers.
I guess there's millions of people that have no idea of how the future will play out for them.
I hope things work out for you and your family.

Maybe it would be cool if the President knew what was in the bill.....
