I'm not concerned about needing insurance that meets govt approval either.

The point is the govt will set a minimum standard and guess what, you won't even be able to buy a policy below that level of coverage anymore.

It's like with auto insurance. There is a minimum level of coverage required. I saw Haley Barber interviewed today and he brought that up. How people will have to buy a "govt approved" insurance plan. He made it sound like you were buying health insurance directly from the govt. It's a consumer protection measure. You need insurance at least as good as what they stipulate. What good is it to mandate health insurance, if people can buy a $50 policy that says in the event of any hospitalizations, the deductable is $100,000 ?

Financial Fall Out

Americans are fat, live beyond their budgets and need to learn to pay for health care for themselves and for their fellow Americans who cannot afford to pay.

It is the law of the land now, you will comply or else!

I wonder, if an IRS agent shoots an American for failure to comply and that person survives... Will the government pay for the medical and hospital costs?

Regarding that video my answer is No, We SHouldn't. Personally, I'm kind of fed up with celebrities endorsing candidates, particularly musicians. I think some people feel like Obama's election is an American catharthis, overturning all the wrongs of the past somehow.
Creating the largest deficits in history isn't going to help anyone regardless of gender or race. Had Obama done the things he SAID he was going to do when elected I wouldn't have a problem with his administration. He has done the opposite of what he said - expanding the war in Afghanistan, continuing spying on Americans, extraordianry rendition and on and on.
Our rights as human beings and our country are going down the tube and all you can do is sing along with YES WE CAN. Whatever makes you happy. Just know the ship is sinking and your captain is opening the hatches and stolenn the last lifeboat. YES HE IS.

I didn't say going without health coverage is a good idea, what I said is requiring people to purchase it is unconstitutional. The individual mandate for health insurance is akin to a mandate requiring everyone to purchase bottled water.

Again, I'm not against this because I think health insurance is a bad idea, I'm against it because this bill violates our Constitution, and blatantly so.

Hospitals don't turn accident victims away and you know it. So, your scenario wouldn't happen and you know it.
