So now that national ACORN is closing up shop and being "morphed" into different community organizing agencies, I have a question. I am sure any of
you that follow this group heard that a judge recently declared that the congressional mandate to cut funding to ACORN unconstitutional. My question,
and a serious one as I do know there are some people more informed on the "constitutionality" of one topic or another on this site, is what or where
in the Constitution does the judge cite as his basis for funding this group? I can't think of anything and even after re-reading the Constitution
online I found nothing to deal with this. I emailed the clerk of courts for the judge that handed down this ruling asking for the same thing 2 days
after I read it and still no response. I haven't heard anyone online or on TV even challenge this. Am I missing something in the Constitution that
covers federal funding for groups like this?
