Have you guys heard of the new Tom Cruise movie 'The Few'?
Cruise plays Billy Fiske who was the only American to give his life in the Battle of Britain. Do you think that Cruise, like Fiske, will crash to his
death with no kills and little experience? Hell no! He shows the idiot/cowardly/scared RAF how to win the Battle and then proceeds to do so himself.
Oh dear.
Why do American films have to do this? I mean its all right having herioc movies but when its playing around with real history and really offends the
people its supposed to honour then why bother?
I guess it can join the ranks of other trashy re-writes like U-571, Pearl Harbour, Saving Private Ryan (no brits at D-Day????), Objective Burma and
even Braveheart and The Patriot, both good movies but appalling mis-representaions. Can you tell this sort of thing really winds me up?
