However, bulldogs have an underbite and seem to slobber so one if most likely out of the question.

Hi bulldog owner here ...

Bulldogs do have an underbite but they do not slobber, at least ours doesn't.

They do however like myself ... snore, fart, hard to train, have a "I'm better than you" attitude, are lazy, stubborn, and thusly are all around adorable.

One of the best dogs to have in the city for most aren't interested in being out for more than five minutes.

Once an english bully owner always a bully owner.

However ... it is of paramount importance to buy from a certified breeder with documented lineage for they have been overbred to meet demand and as a result those which have not been bred properly do suffer from numerous health issues. Buying a champion bred bulldog however can run you from $3,000 to $5,000 so the 'good ones' are cost prohibitive.

For me, I will never have any other breed of dog.

I'm always around via U2U if you want more info.

Or just keep looking at that husband you have, he'll love you more than any puppy, he won't poop in the floor, won't eat the furniture and will even let you rub his belly.

The husband may however bite if you try to take his Tater Tots away from him.

I am like Sdog about breeders and I admit, I may be a bit of a dog snob....but I will only get a dog via a very very reputable breeder. My dog came from a very reputable breeder. I met the parents saw their temperament looked at the history of the parents who were foreign imports, etc. Their health was certified and if Asa shows sign of anything, I can return her. I paid a lot for her, but its worth it. I knew exactly what I was getting and I knew the environment she was born in and lived in for 7 weeks before I took her home.

Last thing you want is a dog from some unknown owner and not knowing the history of the parents or the environment it was raised.

Neighbor 2 houses down rescued a puppy from the human society and now they believe the dog came from an abusive home based on its mannerisms.

Not saying all pound puppies are bad - but you should do some serious research first.

Just my .02 worth of opinion.

Also, not a lot of people do this....but I have my pup in doggy school (mostly for me
) because im not a great teacher and I dont want a dog who is in control

Sorry elevatedone....Im a dog owner.
But it does come with postives and negatives. I still think everyone needs to be on board!

Wow, lots of great advice, thanks!

I had two cats before. One had to be put to sleep for health reason (I blame break dance kitty) and I had bad allergy fits becasue of them, so did other family members, so I had to give the other up for adoption.

I look at animal shelters all the time. Problem is that they seems to be huge dogs (labs, shepards etc) and I don't think it's right to have a big dog if they don't have room to run. They also seem to be old or have health issues and I don;'t want to get one of them only to become attached and lose them quickly.

I don't need a purebred. I'm perfectly fine with a mutt. I just want a little guy to love. And yes, I know I have my hubby to love but it's not the same. Not having kids I guess it would be the next best thing to help nurture if you will. I try yorkie rescue sites etc. but even those can be expensive. I don't really want a puppy either becasue I don't have the time or energy they require.

I do agree with greeneyedleo in that everyione should be on board. We had issues when the cats came along and it can cause added stress.

I just don't know. Maybe I'll just take the money and go shopping instead lol
