Social Darwinism is entirely separate from Evolutionism and is in fact a perversion of it. Both Stalin and Hitler were known to have rejected
Darwin's views, however they did accept the concept of racial superiority put forth more by Lamarckism than by Darwin.
Darwinism itself no longer exists and it is now a term only used by creationists as an erroneous name for Evolution. Even if Darwin had a been a
racist (which everyone in his era undoubtedly was for obvious reasons) research into evolution has in fact shown us that race is genetically a
non-factor, in other words only a handful of genes account for the superficial differences in appearance we call race.
The constitution provides for rights under God, that is what so many seem to forget. And if they aren't provided by God and are somehow
'self-evident', then how come they aren't provided for in evolutionary theory.
The idea of God given rights is an interesting one because nowhere is it accounted for in the Bible. The Bible is the prevailing religious text of
Christianity and yet nowhere in the Bible does it mention the rights we have today as God given. In fact the Bible's moral code is disturbingly
askew, people are stoned, beaten and killed brutally for things like being a witch or not being a virgin when married. Also, the Declaration merely
mentions a creator, it does not specify. The Founding Father's were known to be Deists and many of them dabbled in other religions. Ben Franklin was
a member of a number of secret societies and Thomas Jefferson owned a Koran which he donated to the library of congress later on.
.
It is also worth noting that MOST who believe themselves racially superior do so because of religion, such the KKK who have used religion to claim
white superiority.
Evolution as a mechanism of biology has been demonstrated a myriad of ways both in the field via direct observation and in the fossil record and is a
proven fact. Evolution helped unify us by explaining away race as genetically insignificant.
I find it funny that people attack the social implications of science when it is religion that has the truly dangerous social implications. It was
religion that did forced conversions at the tip of sword and spear, religion that burnt people and tortured in the name of their god. It was science
that gave us longer life, better technology and an understanding of the Universe, an understanding that was continually blocked by religion when
religion used to hold the place of power in society. People were killed because they knew the Earth was not the center of the Universe and tried to
spread the truth.
In conclusion: Your attempts at linking the misguided practices of eugenics and racism to Darwin and Evolution area misguided at best and blatantly
ignorant at worst. I suggest you research Evolution on a sight that isn't laced with hollow religious propaganda.
