Moderators: I apologize if this subforum is inappropriate for this topic.

Some of you may have been believers in conspiracy theories for as long as you've been taking in air, but I would guess that a fair number of you are like me: you can remember a time when you said, "No, that can't be a conspiracy!"

My question to all of you is: what changed your mind?

Hmm ... For me, I guess my mind was changed when I was 11 years old in 1968 . The Viet Nam conflict proved to most young Americans at the time that Tyranny was not exclusive to the Enemies of the United States , and that our own Goverment felt it must fight a War that could not be Won , and for ulterior motives that were kept from the American public at large . Looking back now , it is quite evident to me that it was the beginning of a Power Grab by TPTB that continues to this day .

RESEARCH...it's easy to scoff at and dismiss a subject when you know nothing about it, but think you know it all, because after all, the majority of other humans laugh and scoff at such subjects as well...they must be right, right? WRONG! When you actually do real research into a subject, and get a better idea of what is REALLY going on, it becomes clear that the delusional ones aren't the "believers"...those who group together like bullies, and laugh and scoff at these subjects, without any real knowledge or idea of what they're even talking about, they are the delusional ones, living in a lie, and happy with their blindfolds on...perfect little slaves of society...

There's Countless Secrets, Pseudosciences, and Conspiracy Theories plus Anything Paranormal and Supernatural being made into Works of Fiction so People will not believe them for real and I have a Question: Why Conspiracy theories tends to Blames Capitalism and Zionism for Many Problems in the Modern World?

Well being in a believer in Et's for 16 years, i have always considered our government to sometimes cover up for the greater good. About two years ago when I was just hunky dory in my trusting of our great government I came across a wiki on the internet about MK-Ultra. I highly doubt our government has become more moral since then and that is why I started giving conspiracies a fair shake.

For me in South Africa I guess it was the growing rumors that our "Christian" government had places like Vlakplaas and paid psychopathic death squads. But over here it was easy to tell that most white people were silent, but from my youngest days one could feel that something was seriously wrong.

I still consider myself a skeptic. It's just now I'm skeptical of the government's conspiracy theories.
It makes no sense that lowly, ordinary citizens could be guilty of all the conspiracies they're charged with in this country. It makes more sense that powerful governments and wealthy corporations would conspire together.

What I wonder about however is not so much the existence of conspiracies - history has proven that they happen (which does not mean they are all true). But, what happens morally to people after they find out that what they trusted in as a moral authority has lied?
How does life change?
Yeah, the Nazis said that a big lie is more likely to be believed (and thousands of doubters must be shipped off to concentration camps). But how long can the big lie last?
In SA we've had everything we grew up to trust exposed as lies. And now the lies continue from other sources. It never, never stops or ends.
A few continue the struggle for truth, some don't talk (and cannot, we know), some fall into self-destruction, and most go into denialism.
Denialism is: we broke the law, we comitted crimes, but we did so to prevent barbarism, communism, terrorism, whatever justification you want to be "innocent".
People forget that "conspiracy" is well-intentioned and justifiable at the time.
Or just say this: "We only did as we were told".
Ronald Reagan, Thatcher and the CIA told us it was right.
(And they did, so charge them - ha, that'll be the day!)

I suppose for some noticing it (conspiracy) is the day you say to yourself: "I'm never going to get my hands dirty for those sneaky, rich bastards, and I won't be one of the fall guys: screw their propaganda!
