7th Iraq war anniversary ignored by MSM

The MSM seems to be ominously silent today, the 7th anniversary of the beginning of the war in Iraq. I guess after 7 years of fruitless occupation of a country that was never a threat to us, they don't feel much like celebrating.

Things I have gleaned from my Twitter feed today: It is the second anniversary of the death of Arthur C. Clarke. Things that are noticeably absent: Any mention that today is the 7th anniversary of the beginning of the war in Iraq.

It’s an absence made even more noteable when one considers the deluge of reflection that overtook Twitter this last Sept. 11. Today’s anniversary is not even a trending topic

But let’s forget Twitter for a second — though it’s a great measure of where the hive mind is focused — and turn to some more “reliable” news sources. There’s not a single op-ed in the New York Times today to mark the anniversary, or pontificate on where it all went wrong (update: there is a photo slideshow from this weekend’s Magazine). Nor the Wall St. Journal to tell us what went right. Nothing in the Washington Post either. Nor the LA Times. I can’t even find a single link on Drudge. Perhaps even more shocking is that I can’t find anything on Andrew Sullivan.

It turns out that Saddam's awesome military capacity amounted to "occasionally being able to boil some soup."

What is MSM? I've seen people refer to this three letter agency(?) lately, but I have no idea what it is. Please enlighten me...

MSM is ATS shorthand for the Main Stream Media.

Other ones are;

TPTB = The Powers That Be

OS = Official Story, usually referring to 9-11

That was the only one that I didn't know about was OP but as far as MSN they do a good job in ignoring a war that started long ago for resources and steady income.

Yes, war means money in the register. Terrorism sells, whether it's Bush or Bin Laden who works it out.

What you expect these days?

We have what is portrayed as socialized health care legislation but it's really health insurance reform.

They've moved on to a new agenda. People have lost focus on the wars, we want health care that's what we want.

Eversince the presidential campaign, apparently we all have wanted health care really really bad.
