Deals you say.... yes... Marlin Model 975

Thanks for the heads up

I know little about guns aside from the fact that I need and want one for when TSHTF. what information should I know before getting this? Of course I'll be going for the cheaper one.

The Remington, while not my favorite, is certainly hard to beat as an all around rifle.

Especially at prices like that.

Funny how the weapons are going down in price while the ammo goes up

Thanks for the heads up! I have been looking for a decent priced "used" remington 700 hb .308, but at that price I think I'll just opt for new instead.

I got one of those .22 rifles, actually it's a Mossberg with a borrowed Marlin receiver, for 99$.

CCI stinger hollows.. you can blow up some coke cans like my 9mm will with FMJs.

If you want a heads-up, here is some good advice:

1. Buy from private individuals.

2. Buy From Private individuals.

3. Do not buy from FFL licensed dealers.

4. Buy From Private individuals.

Thanks. I have a question though. Can gun purchases be tracked if you get them at a store like Dick's, even if you use cash? I wouldn't mind having one but don't want big brother to know I have one. Doesn't seem like a good idea.

Umm... everyone purchasing from a store will go through a background check to make sure your not a felon.

OK, I will say it... Don't be so paranoid, there are 100 million gun owners in the US, nobody is coming for your .22 rifle anytime soon. I would much rather worry about the threat of "anarchy" due to a disaster. When 1 in 3 or so Americans own weapons, I wouldn't worry to much about confiscation.

While these are very good deals aren't we supposed to NOT be selling stuff on ATS? I don't want to have to sift through thread after thread if people are plugging for stuff for sale (even guns which I love dearly!) This isn;t Shotgun News, is it?

As a side note......Seeing how most replies to this thread will be gun owners, I'm curious of how many of you had the Census takers come
to your house last year and GPS your house? It happened to me
(I thought it was innocent at the time) but I've read it happened
to mainly known gun owners (if you purchased several arms from
a dealer recently (last couple of yrs).

Any info appreciated. Thanks

My wife is horrible just like yours!! Ah, we sufferin' menfolk!

I have to agree with those who said to buy from private parties... not only stay out of the system, you get better bargains too

This week I put my Winchester M70 300wsm up for sale...
Someone here in NM is going to get a heck of a good deal on her too...

...Was one I'm glad I used a laser bore sighter on...

Great Deal! Thanks for posting.

BTW, I don't think posting a deal at a major retailer is the same as "selling something." The point is that we don't post our own merchandise, but I look forward to posts like this one, and the thread about the dehydrated food at Costco. We need these types of things on ATS. Sort of a way to look out for one another in a community of people with similar tastes and problems to overcome.

Interesting point. Good deals on guns but, good luck finding ammo.

.380 pocket pistols have been all the rage lately with the release of the Ruger LCP, Kahr P380, Sig P238 etc etc. Sadly, you can't even buy enough range ammo to break these guns in.

I would never carry a gun for protection without at least putting 500 rounds through it.

I'm glad that I have been seeing 9mm ammo in my local shops lately. Although, a 50 round box of range ammo is now running close to 20 bills.
