kinda neat low tech game - The Non-Line-Of-Sight Cannon, the future of U.S. field artillery.

I scored 2,000 (nevermind
) first try

The key indirect cannon system used by the U.S. Army today, although it performed admirably in recent conflicts, is not fully automated or otherwise best configured for a cockpit environment necessary in future manned ground vehicles. To meet this critical shortfall, the U.S. Army is developing the NLOS-C. The NLOS-C will be the key indirect fire support system for the U.S. Army’s FCS and will reduce the risk of United States casualties by providing a much-needed artillery system that can outmatch and outsmart any enemy and increase the effectiveness of the entire ground force.

I got a 46,300, but that's only thanks to years and years of playing Scorched Earth and Worms: Armageddon.

I'd probably be a better artilleryman than I give myself credit for. Where do I sign up?

Maybe we'll get drafted and find out.

That's the beauty of it; between this, the America's Army online FPS, and the rest of their recent marketing efforts, not to mention the monolithic popularity of military-themed games not even associated with the actual armed forces, such as the Modern Warfare series and the recent hit Bad Company 2, many won't even mind; going to war will seem like a great time.

If I predict correctly, the line between entertainment and state-sponsored mass murder will continue to grow increasingly more blurry in the next few decades.

sweet, 4,100 the first round, guess all those years of Worms Armageddon (just as stated above) really did pay off, lol, i knew it was a government conspiracy to help turn me into a better solider.

100,900 on the first try, I guess it's better not to try again.

To me it was easier to change the speed than the angle, but I don't know if a real cannon would be as easy to use as this.

Somehow I scrimped my way into lev 13on my first go,sometimes on my final missile-score was 144300.
Took out an ICBM though !

Tricky critter kept popping back in its silo.
Got me plenty of helicopers too.

I don't think I should carry on though or ill be hogging by bro's PS before long...

Fun though.

haha, I made it to 145,600 on first try. I missed my last silo by 1 degree.

81,300 on the first try. Game doesn't exactly express the new weapon's technology. Coulda been an 18th century brass cannon with no difference.

CGI.
That's my story and I'm sticking with it.

It's a stupid game. I hate it.

I wasn't expecting such a negative post from you.

Why not a more technical approach, explaining how easy it is to make such a game and explain the formula(s) that could be used and how the changes in velocity and angle affect more or less the result?

Or did you tried it and just got zero?

Edit: update on my score - 186100, I only missed one target.

Sorry ArMap.
I did very badly at the game. (There, I admit it.)
Are you familiar with the English idiom "sour grapes"?

This is an update of a very old computer game we used to play way back in dinosaur times in the '70's. Velocity and angle. It's all math on the fly. Fun, not too difficult, but in the end, it is just more of the same after a while. The military has been using NLOS cannons forever. Well as long as they had decent charges that could send a projectile beyond sight anyway, but that is a long time.

The physics of this game is good, but once you figure out how to hit the grid, you can pretty much aim at any square and hit it. Keep in mind that the physics on each screen is the exact same so you can use that as a guide and should get quite good in a short amount of time. Shooting over an obstacle into a deep canyon makes it a bit more challenging, but again, angle and velocity will describe the arc you desire. For fun try setting the velocity at max, and then adjust the angle to drop the projectile straight down on the target.

Have fun, just don't put anyones eye out with a sharp stick.
