Nostrodamus predicted Israel's nuclear Holocaust

A few days ago I saw a thread about Isreal planning to fire nuclear weapons on Europe well Nostrodamus predicted it.

(Century II, Quatrains 3 and 4)

During a period of continuing unrest, the leader of a Middle Eastern country will be able to obtain a nuclear weapon. He will go to the greatest lengths over the smallest things and will not hesitate to use the weapon because of his obsessions with deadly warfare. The people he is warring against retaliate with a nuclear weapon. The country has a coast on the Mediterranean.


One of the bombs will land in the Mediterranean instead of the land, poisoning all the fish. The passages of trade in the region will be disrupted so that the people on the other coast will be desperate for food and will eat the fish anyway. It will happen near the east coast of the Mediterranean in a region of dark-colored cliffs.

(Century III, Quatrain 83)

The nuclear weapon being dropped by one of the Middle Eastern countries will spark off yet another war on top of that war. European nations will try to interfere to diminish the threat to oil supplies. When the European countries try to interfere, the crazed leader will use the rest of his arsenal on Europe, most striking the Italian Peninsula.

The European Mediterranean coast, particularly that of Italy and France, will be almost uninhabitable, and Italy will get the brunt. This leader is not the Antichrist but helps to set the stage for the Antichrist to rise to power with little or no opposition.

Yeah but if you notice on the original version it looks a little similar to the modern one

In my minds eye I have always seen Britain being destroyed by Israel.
There is something holy about Britain.
The Israelis fear them, and their balanced view of the middle east?
I hope it never happens but they do hav equite an arsenal thanks to the good old USA and the Good Old USSR.

I really don't see how you can pull all that out the original. Nostradamus never has impressed me because his stuff is so vague and his supporters really stretch it to make it fit. Now Bible prophecy is specific and even gives names and dates that can be historically verified. Expect Israel to be attacked i.e. the Magog invasion in Ezekiel 38.

That really doesn't look like something nostrodamus wrote anyway.

CENTURY II, Quatrain III

Pour la chaleur folaire fus la mer
De Negrepont les poiffons demi cuits:
Les habitans les viendront entamer,
Quand Rhod, & Gennes leur faudra le biscuit.

English translation via Erika Cheetham in the book Nostradamus

Because of heat like that of the sun on the sea,
the fish around Negrepont will be half-cooked.
The local people will eat them when in Rhodes and Genoa
there is a lack of food.

Seems markedly different from your interpretation; let's go on to Quatrain IV:

Depuis Monach iufque aupres de Sicile,
Toute la plage demourra defolee
Il n'y aura fauxbourg, cite' ne ville,
Que par Barbares pille' foit & volle'e.

The coast will remain deserted all along the coast from Monaco as far as Sicily. There will be no suburbs, cities or towns which will not have been pillaged and robbed by Barbarians.

I have to be frank with you, OP. I see very little correlation between your translation and that of the author of this book, whom, I would suppose, spent a great deal of time with the translation. However, I don't speak nor read French, so I freely admit I am hinging this reply entirely upon Ms. Cheetham's work.

hmmmm. Great Antenna. Pretty much kills the idea of it being televised on pay-per-view, huh?
