earth's unstable magnetic field causes earthquakes?

here's what information i got from a video -
solar flares affect the magnetic field of earth, and this in turn, causes earthquakes. Do you think this is true?
some are saying that in 2012, there's going to be a solar storm. So if the above theory is correct, this solar storm in 2012 could cause many severe earthquakes.....?
