Get it right folks! Michael Moore is against this bill because it is NOT a 100% wholesale takover of healthcare by the government. In other words, it is NOT SOCIALIST ENOUGH! The same reason that Der Kucinich is not voting for it - it is NOT socialist enough. Both of these fools want government to own your healthcare 100%!

Exactly!

The bill simply does not do enough to reform health care.

It's about time the US caught up with the rest of the civilized world and started guaranteeing its citizens the most basic of human rights.

Thank god for people like Micheal Moore (never thought I'd say it) and Dennis Kucinich, who are willing to point out the obvious faults in this watered-down legislation. The Democrats want to pass this plan because it will be $$$, and the Republicans are only against it because they want that $$$ for themselves.

Meanwhile, people who are able to see through the partisan bull# want that $$$ going to provide medical services for people who can't afford them.

Except that these companies are making a profit from trying to cure or alleviate human suffering, not cause it or make it worse.

What's the problem with that?

Oh, and you might want to reconsider an econ 101 class. No profit = no incentive = no research = no new drugs, treatments, etc.

You apparently do not understand what an insurance company does.

The insurance companies do not provide funding to doctors or hospitals.

The insurance companies do not provide funding to pharmaceutical companies.

The insurance companies do not provide funding for medical research or to develop new treatments.

The ONLY thing insurance companies do is provide funding for individual medical procedures, provided they are cost-effective, approved, and the people they pay to actively attempt to deny you service cannot find a reason to deny your treatment.

Oh, and yes they also collect premiums, raise premiums, collect deductibles and make windfall profits while essentially producing nothing.

Yes, they are a real shining example of Capitalism at its finest and most honorable, those blessed insurance companies.
