So many nonsense stories coming out from the western media, blah i couldn't care less, also dont trust your sources, after all they all tells us lies and nothing more.

From the quoted material:

A new set of star velocity data indicates that Gliese 710 has an 86 percent chance of ploughing into the Solar System within the next 1.5 million years.

Of course, trajectories are difficult to calculate when the data is poor so nobody has really been sure about what's going to happen.

So I have time to mentally prepare myself then...?

1.5 million years....... that's a mega long time. Did you know that if you were to count every second up to 1 million without stopping it would take you about eleven and a half days... assuming you didn't lose count about half way and have to start over again.

Go on, try it! I know you want to.

Also, something else to consider, there hasn't been a million days since the reported birth of Christ yet. I think there's been something like 750,000 or something...

1.5 million years... there's going to have been a lot that's happened by then. If we last that long, I wonder what evolution (purposefully directed by us or not) will have made of us by then.

Edited to fix a typo.

Orange Dwarf Star Set to Smash into The Solar System pt. 2

www.forbes.com...

Strange how this hasn't been pick up on ATS (unless I missed it).

But probably better discussed in the Space Exploration forum.
