G'day Moonman1111

In this thread.....

www.abovetopsecret.com...

.....fulcrum flyer states the following:

The first video with the cylinder is a fake. The video was taken from the back seat of an F-15A or F-15D. You'd see the HUD if the video was taken from that perspective from the back seat of the F-15E (the F-15E HUD has a much wider field-of-view than the F-15A/B/C/D). The Soviets didn't fly any aircraft equipped with an ACES II seat and that's the back of an ACES II seat shown in the video. I spent 23 years as a USAF fighter pilot and the F-15 is one of the fighters I flew.
I also have several hundred hours in the MiG-29 (as an exchange pilot with the Luftwaffe), have flown the MiG-21 and sat in both the MiG-23 and Su-27. That's definitely not any of those cockpits.

TheBandit745 (an ATS Super Moderator) states the following:

I find fulcrumflyer and Viperwrencch's arguments to be the best ones till now. If the video's aren't from a MIG, then they are a blatant lie.

See Backtoreality? Now it looks more like proven fake, rather than undetermined

IsaacKoi (a well known & very credible resource) states the following very interesting info that must be considered to be the final say.....the whole documentary is extremely questionable:

The relevant clips are extracted from a TV documentary, presented by Roger Moore entitled "The Secret KGB UFO Files".

I've previously posted information about that documentary and the footage it contained. Since that information is highly relevant to this rather long thread, I hope no-one will mind if I repeat myself a bit...

The relevant documentary was directed by Dan Goldman, and written by David Doyle and Gregg Ostrin, for a TNT network broadcast on 13 September 1998. (The background of the latter writer is quite amusing...).

The documentary is available on Amazon (and the relevant webpage includes various reviews, which are almost universally rather negative) at:

www.amazon.com...

You may be interested in my email about other "Russian" UFO footage from this documentary at the first of the links below, and the follow-up emails by Stan Friedman and Don Ledger at the second and third links:

Particularly interesting is an email from David Rudiak during the same discussion at the link below:
www.virtuallystrange.net...

David's email includes the following:

Originally posted by David Rudiak on Updates

When Stan Friedman visited the S.F. Bay Area a few years back,
Reuben Uriate, Northern California MUFON director, demonstrated
for us that many portions of your referenced "documentary" were
flagrantly hoaxed.

This program was shown on the TNT network and was supposed to
show, among other things, films of Russian jet interceptors
encounters with UFOs.

What they _really_ did was take a previous TNT documentary on
_American_ fighter planes and then used computer graphics to
insert the supposed-UFOs.

He showed the clips from the original documentary followed
immediately by the "UFO" clips. No doubt about it. The UFOs were
computer generated and they hoped the average viewer wouldn't
know a Russian MIG from a U.S. fighter.

Kind regards

In which case some one wants us to think that Russia is
encountering a UFO from time to time.
So easy to fool people.
Russia does not have the technology and we won't even show them
an encounter.

Meh, seems to have been debunked. Can a mod delete this thread or close it?

What? Why would they do that? What would the point be? There's no discussion going on anymore. It would just look to the especially paranoid people like the mods were trying to control discourse, and that would be absurd. Besides, if it turned out that someone had new evidence, they would risk losing the attention of everyone who already had this thread on their "My ATS" page.

That's not how this board works, Moonman. We leave everything open for discussion.
