I was looking through the GAME warranty T&C when I found this (GAME is one of the leading sellers of games, consoles and accessories in the UK)

Any cost or damage caused by war, terrorism, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war be declared or not), riot, strike, civil commotion, civil war, rebellion, revolution, insurrection or military or usurped power.

I mean... come on? The maximum price of a product sold at this shop is 400 pounds. Why would they bother writing such an extreme circumstance in the T&C?

what's wrong with it.

it's not much different then saying nothing is covered by an act of god.

That is standard boilerplate terminology on any inland marine/property or casualty insurance policy. Nothing to worry over.

I have that clause in my home insurance.
I'm covered by everything including an act of god, but not terrorism or war.

That's in pretty much EVERY clause and warranty in the world, nothing to panic over.. unless the 2nd English civil war happened (i'll be reliving my 2nd civil war for that matter from my pastlife) you wouldnt be covered

I'm sure if that happened your property would be the least of your concerns..

unless the 2nd English civil war happened

Hate to appear pedantic, but it would actually be the 4th.
The English Civil War was actually three separate wars.

As for the OP, the clause is just a replacement for the outdated, and quite insulting, "Act of God" clause.
