The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has asked a variety of food companies to recall more than 30 products, from vegetable dips to soups, that contain a commonly used food additive that has tested positive for salmonella.

I was kinda stunned to learn that the old, evil MSG is in tons of food, even foods that contain labeling indicating "No MSG!" It seems Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (HVP) is the new MSG, literally - it's the same, chemically, but goes under a different name.

To make matters worst, in this instance, it also is responsible for salmonella.

I am also very shocked by this. Pretty soon a lot of our food is going to have all kinds of chemicals and diseases. I won't know what to eat anymore.
