Just happened..

M 6.3, Antofagasta, Chile
www.usgs.gov...

Obviously we are now waiting for further information.

I seriously hope this already ravaged country is under no further threats andf that no lives are lost this time.

6.3 is quite a heavy beast when it gets moving.

My thoughts and best wishes go out to the people of Chile.

There was actually two earthquakes, well at least that's what my eQuake reported

one was a magnitude 6.4 and the other one was 6.3...I don't know if they were aftershocks or a separate earthquake

These two were reported prior on the USGS site;

M 5.1, offshore Libertador O'Higgins, Chile
March 04, 2010 19:28:38 GMT

M 5.3, offshore Libertador O'Higgins, Chile
March 04, 2010 17:37:49 GMT

Can't see any mention of a 6.4 but maybe I'm looking in the wrong place..

Looks like it hit directly on some water supply facility.

a 6.3 earthquake 160 miles NE of Antofogasta, Chile pop 200,000+

I don't expect damage at all apart from just some rumbling of buildings

I hope you are right..

Further damage/deaths is the last thing Chile needs right now.

I'm betting if you go into your recent quakes you will only see 1 listed, the 6.3. If a quake comes in at 1 magnitude and then is adjusted it will shake again to update it.

Mine only lists the 6.3
