This is one thing i dont understand.

The first post made reference to Lucifer, cast out of heaven. But if that is the truth, then why are there references in the bible of satan in heaven accusing people later on? I dont think Satan has been totally thrown out yet. He is the prince of the power of the air which is the first heaven, the sky.

Satan is the accuser of the breathren and still has access to the Throne.

You know whats even more amazing is that there are people who take what others are saying and 'adding' things up to be, as, forgive the pun, the "gospel" truth.
Anyone can take a verse from an Apocalyptic referenced verse and literally twist it to mean and imply virtually anything, eh?
Whats even more amazing is the amount of reference to one number: 888 and 666 and yet, for thousands of years, NO ONE has been able to determine the what the mark of the so-called Beast will be or is.

This is a really old debate too. A lot of people thought Reagan could be it because he had 6 letters in each of his names and survived the assassination attempt. But isn't that one of the problems with past and current generations, in that they take something literally today without applying it the audience of that time period that read and heard these things? I believe its called taking something out of the context for which it was given in and for?

Truthseekers, biblical literalists, etc. have been taking the Apocalyptic symbols and numbers out of historical and literary contexts for ages and are still doing so today....
Probably why they haven't been able to come up with a rational explanation for such symbols and numbers to this day? They don't want to heed what their real meanings were to those who wrote, read, and heard such verses/messages 2,000+/- years ago.

First, there is no such thing as the end times, but things will radically change for many people in many ways. The date 2012 is not a new one, since its the date that the Mayan calendar ends for some reason.

Tell me if things are not going to radically change if even the NAVY is making plans to protect the new ocean we will have in what now is the Arctic by 2015. Now, knowing that the pentagon has been studying this and that a report was released by them of the worse case scenarios on rapid climate change, and many scientist back this up, can people still say that we are not in for some extreme changes in the near future? The evidence is there.

Just because there are scammers out there doesn't make this less of a threat, people just have to be informed to know the difference between a scam, and the truth.

There have always been scammers who have taken advantage of gullible people in almost any topic, and once in a while they create a new doomsday scenario to make money, but does this include all the reports from scientists that we indeed are going to see radical changes in the near future and that we are noticing those changes happening now?

My advice is, no matter what people claim, do inform yourself and search for the truth. Don't take anything anyone tells you by face value, but at the same time do not ignore real evidence and proof because there are some people who always come up with a scam.
