Why do I keep seeing UFO's? Third time now...

Seriously, this is the third UFO I've seen, and frankly, at this point it's just annoying. Annoying since you'll never find out what it really was, or even if what you saw was even real. Of course no one else saw the damned thing, 'cause it was -16C outside and in the middle of the night. *sigh*

So anyway, I was going to bed at 3 in the night. I'd been in bed for about 10 minutes and wasn't particularly sleepy. Was thinking about how a game would work if you had an actual gun in your hand, sort of a side project of mine.

Anyway, I was just staring out the window when two red dots come in from the right in a fairly fast speed. The dots are parallel to the ground too. I literally bounce out of bed and try to catch the rest of the spectacle, but as the flickering dots are about to pass behind some trees that are in my back garden, they vanish into thin air. The whole thing lasted about 4-5 seconds.

I've been into UFO:s since my last experience, so I know a lot about what it Wasn't. It wasn't a UFO balloon, a helicopter or any type of RC craft. It was just some red dots flashing about in a fast manner over the sky, disappearing as fast as they appeared... and conveniently so just as they were about to head behind some trees, from MY point of view!

I'm beginning to think I'm hallucinating these things somehow. I don't hallucinate other things, but I've seen too many UFOs in my life for this to be real, and that's all I'm basing this on. Also, I figure the UFO disappeared because my imagination couldn't handle the UFO going behind all those branches (it's in the middle of the winter so all the trees are leafless), and I don't have a clear memory of exactly where the UFO disappeared, or even how it appeared, even though I tried to reflect over that just moments after.

I.. I just regret my actions the last time so, goddamn, much. It was out in the open and I could've easily run up to someone and point the thing out, but no, I just stood there dumbfounded. It would've made all the difference. If they saw what I saw then at least I wouldn't think I was hallucinating. *sigh*

I guess what I'm asking is: Has anyone seen anything similar? The dots weren't exactly bright, and were flickering in a pretty fast frequency. I don't know if I should describe them as red.. more like a variation of red. Hard to explain. "Soft red"?

well, if its anything like my experiences, i dont gennerally go outside to smoke with a camera, especially if its raining, also, runngin in doors to grab a camera might mean you miss something.
4 seperate occasions over the last 6 months i have seen 'something', however, they are so far apart, that takign a camera outside and having it swithced on, just in case doesnt seam to be worth it.
we all know at the end of tha day, any photo posted will be classed as:-
1 too poor to make it out
2 another light in the sky
3 hoax
4 the moon reflecting off nocturnal birds
5 aircraft flyign in a funny manner hiding the strobe lights
6 chinse lantern
7 satelite/iss whatever

so basically, from my point of view, i really cannot be bothered with taking pics these days
o and btw, i dont actually own a mobile/cell phone these days, so thats out aswell

you know back in the day when ufology was interested in the truth your testimony would be relegated to the bottom of the pile and you would be termed a "repeater". Genuine ufo phenomena with interesting characteristics was recognized as being extremely rare. If it was common you would have tons of hard evidence photo/video of the same thing.

for someone to have not just one but three ufo sightings uncoroborated by anyone else is just too unlikely and would be regarded as unreliable and that person a probable fantasist.

however ufology is diffirent today and they basically accept anything as fact if it sounds good. Write a book and sell it to the believers, throw in a few CE3s or CE4s you could make a bit of cash.

"for someone to have not just one but three ufo sightings uncoroborated by anyone else is just too unlikely and would be regarded as unreliable and that person a probable fantasist."

Well that's like calling a whole lot of New Yorkers "fantasists". Only one camera ever caught the first place crashing into the building, and that was by mistake. I'm sure they had a lot more than 4-5 seconds to react too.

But whatever, this sighting doesn't really affect me. I'll label it as I did the other 2. "Don't know what it was, don't care what it was".

Well , dont feel bad about not being able to record some evidence on this occasion. Lets face it, alot of the people who are best placed to see lights in the sky, are not always persons who would be able to carry a camera around . Plus even a half decent digital cam takes a few seconds to be ready to shoot after being activated so its unlikely you would have been able to capture a good image, even if you had been armed with such a thing.
Its an important point you make about hallucinations though . Much as I personaly think the UFO subject has alot more to it than misidentification and hearsay, I think if you are really worried about hallucination, then it might be a good idea to do some research.
You went to bed about three in the morning you say ? I wonder then how often you sleep , and wether or not you get good restful sleep. If you do not, then that can cause visual disturbances including multi hued spots in your vision. In fact many things could cause that symptom. When you had the other two sightings , what was your physical condition. Where you in any way fatigued or stressed? Had you eaten well ? Have you any history of neurological complaints yourself or in the history of your family ? Its important to establish ALL the possibilities before coming to a conclusion. I know its pretty extreme to suggest you get these things checked out, but until you capture some images of it, these sorts of things have to be playing on your mind. The whole "am I going nuts? Seriously is there something wrong with my head" bit has to go round and round the old noggin for a while faced with such oddness?

In my experience you probably live close to something they are interested in.
In the late 1950's and early 1960's the was a "UFO Flap" over Pantex Ordnance plant near Amarillo, TX. I lived 3 miles from there and saw them on so many nights I could not count. And since the plant assembled nuclear weapons at the time it was a no-brainer as to why they were interested. Even today there is a fair amount of activity here, but few are willing to admit a sighting due to the threats and ridicule of the past.
Check around, you may live close to something that might make you want to move.

TrueBrit> I've had problems with my sleep for a long time, though nothing too serious. It's mainly because I just sit around the apartment all day long. Yesterday (when it happened) wasn't very unusual. I went to bed a little bit late since I woke late is all. As for conditions I'm A-OK. Nothing in the family or anything.

The one common denominator I can find in all of my three sightings is that my head has been in a weird position each time. First time (16yo) I was laying on a tire swing with my head up-side-down, looking up. Second time (23yo) I was standing at a bus stop, and had just swung my head heavily backwards to get the last drops out of a soda can. This time (28yo) I was laying down, head was level against the bed, letting my imagination take hold 'cause I was trying to sleep (at the same time as I was watching stars btw, just like the other 2 times).

Ratkiller> All we have here is.. Maybe that FOI base. My last two sightings took place near that base. This one was further away, but it was heading in the direction of the base. This is what their homepage says about them.

What is FOI? FOI is one of Europe’s leading research institutes in the defence and security area. The agency is financed on contracts’ basis and is responsible to the ministry of defence. The core business is research, method and technology development and studies.

To me FOI stands for "Freedom Of Information". As for the base you speak of, I would post the MoD and ask what goes on there. But from your information I think that base is the point of interest. The position of you head all 3 times is coincidental, you were looking up, so you saw them. Look up more often, you might see more of them.

I see a lot of crazy stuff in the skies too.

Don't worry people will always accuse you of lying and hallucinating but just know you're not the only person this happens to. I agree also to your point of tedium. After a while you start to get frustrated as they always appear late and sporadically, so having a camera is hit and miss. Phones cameras don't pick up ANYTHING in moderately, low lighting streets and or dark gardens.

I've seen a LOT of crazy stuff and I honestly do not care who believes me. I just think that when, IF, this does come to light I'll either say, well it was aliens, or well it was a government craft.... Either one is just as scary.
