In all seriousness though can't we all just agree to disagree it saves on the friction and negative energy towards each other. As I said before we can all get along just fine if we admit we are all wrong.

As regards for the 'lame' poking .....How old are we? IMO this thread is what is needed on ATS and I for one campaign for it to be stickied, whos with me?

I agree! In fact, you and I are a good example. On some things we disagree... but we get along just fine. We are civil and sometimes we even chat via u2u. I do have much respect for you FSF!

Ad hominem arguments aren't logical fallacies. The credibility of the source has absolutely no bearing on the validity of the information provided, however. A guy with a Ph.D from Harvard is just as capable of lying through his teeth as a high school dropout from Jersey City. The problem is some people just automatically assume a statement is true because they heard it on CNN or because their government says so. Conversely, those same people automatically dismiss information that comes from sources like this very site. That's why I find it irritating when conspiracy theories are labeled "official stories", as if the credibility of the source makes the statement factual. The "skeptics" should be required to prove their theories just like everyone else. "Because the government and Glenn Beck say so" is not proof of anything. That al-Qaeda had anything to do with 9/11 is an unproven conspiracy theory regardless of the source.



Oh, and most people consider the BBC a credible source BTW.

This may not be how i think but more disinformation to show how easy it is to spread disinformation

Actually this is just the way some people in the environmental movement think.
They told me this thinking I was also a environmentalist.
I am not but when you go to there meeting and look like a hippie from the 60s they are so open to leading questions.

We may see how many agree with me by how many stars i get for the post.

For me i can take any side of many subjects just to show that disinformation is everywhere out there,(collage level debate courses are training in disinformation only one side "may" be telling the truth but to debate a subject you have to have two sides and its not about truth but the winner is the one that appears to present the subject the best, true or not. This is why you find many politicians were Debaters in high school or collage) even the government and the media uses a lot more then many people catch on to. Sometime i believe the government spreads more disinformation then the truth.

If i wanted to really do disinformation i would get on here and post the most stupid and ignorant post making it look like i was supporting the side i disagreed with and this is a even better form of disinformation.

Anyway, check some of my other posts. COINTELPRO and dis-info agents are actually part of the OP's topic, and I have quite a lot to say about that. But nobody seems to care that the one ATS member who fights hardest for free energy is being stalked, harassed, threatened and terrorized by corrupt cops and God-only-knows who else. Nobody gives me stars or applause or worships me for talking about that stuff......

Usually in cases like these the OP has read a thread and has disagreed with the comments by skeptics/believers and is so angry that he is going to mack a thread solely for the purpose of bashing the group. Before I introduce you to a mouse playing the world's smallest violin in sympathy for your plight...look at your flag bar. It's half full because members have supported your threads. Your profile has 4 applause. You have some friends on there too, I noticed. Be grateful...a lot more members have a lot less attention than you complain of! It can be lonely on a big forum...think of those other guys too

Does any of that have anything to do with your popularity with other members? No it doesn't. If Phage vanishes in a puff of evil green smoke...will you become popular and replace him? Probably not. There's a lot of successful members in a variety of forums. If you made posts that were a little less 'whiny,' perhaps you'd be more popular, less needy and get the stars you want?

As far as there being PAID DISINFORMATION AGENTS ON ABOVETOPSECRET.COM FORUMS: there are, duh, by now they are in almost every forum. The days of the lurking Creeps gave way to the days of the Trolling Spooks on 9-11.

And WHO ARE THESE "TROLLING SPOOKS"? I can't name all their screen-names, per se, because I just joined. But if you like, you can reverse-engineer their identities case by case by analysing their strategies. For example:

TROLLS CREATE MULTIPLE, DIFFERENT-IP ACCOUNTS: then they agree with themselves, and can always have a safe "backup account" when their primary usage one for the day is inevitably banned. It seems like science fiction to some of us, "insane" folks, but real people are doing this these days. Why? Some are kids doing it for net-cred. Most are adult-children grad-school, gung ho nationalist types at heart, and probably compare themselves often to GI Joe toys. Why does this group of "adults" do what gets off pre-pubescent nerds between looking at 18+ porno? Because they get paid to do it by the CIA.

TROLLS INCITE FLAME WARS BY AD HOMINEM ATTACKS: the sole reason any "troll" goes to a forum is to burn off their hatred for themselves. They attack anyone who reminds them of "how they used to be" before they "wised up" to "reality." This bully-mentality is exhibited mostly in the great ape family, and has been seen as "savage" and alike the behaviour of the "wild man" (bigfoot) since the reign of Gilgamesh in Kish. This mildly homo-erotic, sophomorically jocular, sarcastic and abusive, abrasively uninformed and in general "snot-nosed" mal-attitude exhibited by these individuals is to broadcast their own worst attributes onto strangers, rendering them perceieved enemies, and then to draw angry attention to the stranger for exhibiting their own ill trait. This is all to suck energy out of the crowd. They have no ability to lead if put in charge, so they all end up as like drone insects, plugged into the queen-bee's hive-mentality.

TROLLS ARE ALLOWED TO OPERATE OPENLY BY MODERATORS: this is, not to beat a dead horse, and as I have said elsehwere on these forums before, how Hitler won the vice-chancellorship. He simply put so much pressure on Grand Chancellor Bismark, and paid so many of this type of person to join his party, that Bismark felt powerless beside the "Bohemian corporal," and caved into allowing Hitler the Vice Chancellor position. It was the bat of an eye after that Bismark died, and immediately after that, the Reichstag fire decree declared the Third Reich a police state under Martial Law. Am I saying the ATS mods are knowing accomplices of these Spook-paid Trolls, or even unwitting conspirators after the fact for their agreeing to keep silent? No, I am not. I don't know them well enough to call them cowards and compare them to Bismark. No, that is not what I would like anyone to think I am saying.

TROLLS ATTACK THE CORE PREMISE OF ANY FORUM: If the forum were about botany, and the trolls were hired to bust up the forum about botany, they would crash in (or at least two or three at once would create six to ten multple accounts) and 1) start making rude comments to new forum members about their taste in flora, B) claim the older posters were weak for not "debunking" the "radicals" who questioned their tastes, and ultimately 3) attack the administration openly for mis-managing the forum and allowing such low-class florsists anywhere near the precious opinions of the oh-so-intelligent and award-worthy regular posters. Following this, they then vanish, thus leaving all the flowery little Sneeches branded and confused. All in a day's pay for a "fork-boy."

So, if you children out there in internet fantasy land want to try to track down a troll, when they say something you find highly dubious or cautionable, you should send them a U2U. If they do not write back and do not read it, and do not log on again, and eventually their account is deleted, or they don't come back ever again (on that aco#), then you will know that person was a PAID DISINFORMATION AGENT. However the only way to know for sure would be to have the Moderator's help in each instance. Mostly moderators of forums that have a high ratio of trolls feel disempowered to do their duty. However there remain some among them who would at least keep track for a while before considering whether to act on it or not. As I say though, I cannot speak on the ATS staff, individually, because I am new here.

WARNING:: TROLLS ARE ALWAYS RECRUITING: trolls are energy-vampires. They will accuse anyone who is friendly of being a spy, because they are spies themselves. They will make friends with people by attacking a random stranger, then waiting to see who defends or agrees. They approach those who agree, and get them to spy on those who defended the hapless victim of the verbal abuse. If a troll accuses you of ANYTHING, it is because that is their OWN belief they are attacking by attacking you. You are nothing but the straw inside their own diversionary argument. So if a wwwdottroll says, "you are in a cult," when you aren't, it is because they are in a cult, not you. Etc. This psychological process is called nowdays "transference," but it used to be called "Florence Nightengale" syndrome, from shell-shocked soldiers falling in love with their VA nurse.

WARNING:: TROLLS ARE DANGEROUS COWARDS: if cornered, they will react with the full amount of psychic-fear they have fed off of their victims. Do not approach a troll alone. They will win against almsot any individual. They never win against a group.

As far as skeptics and believers goes, the whole argument's a strawman. mrmask's a troll. All the rest's a "scam."

Sorry man. I don't really care about popularity all that much - it's only an internet forum after all - and I am not meaning to be "whiny".

Just trying to make it clear to you guys that,

With the exception of TheRedneck and maybe a handful of others, I push the hardest for Free Energy and,

I get a lot of threats and seriously scary stuff happening to me in real life.

So if, God Forbid, I should inexplicably stop posting all of a sudden, I am hoping that the rest of you will connect the dots

I should ignore trolls, but I'll make an exception for your post. Bravo! I've starred it too. It seeks to draw negative attention on so many levels and uses so many words, it's overcome mere trolling and become a sum greater than it's parts!

I'll point out a couple of ironies in there...you criticise the moderators for 'allowing trolling.' You then point out that trolls 'attack the administration.' You say they use ad-hominems and then write a veritable diatribe of insults aimed at trolls. By your own understanding you are trolling

Whilst I agree that skepticism is an important comodity in the feilds which ATS deals with, I must stress that neither skeptics nor believers would have a leg to stand on without the evidence factor.
Evidence is more important than the people who argue over its meaning. It is worth more than reasoned debate, logical thinking, and even more important than subject matter experts. It is golden , and always better than a good theory. As long as skepticism does not ignore evidence which goes against its doctrine, then there is not a problem.
However, much as believers ignoring the murky history of thier chosen messiahs, a skeptic who chooses to ignore and discount entire fields of research is also a fool.
I have seen skeptics slam the entire idea of intelligent life for example. These are people who ignore even the biggest brains on earth, most of whom believe it is mathematicaly impossible for us to be alone in the universe. I have seen skeptics tell us that the World Trade Centres fell the way they did by chance, or because they were designed to, even though actual physics and engineering experts say this was impossible.
Mr Mask, you know from threads you and I have both contributed to, that I know BS when I smell it, and I know you do too. But dont forget that occasionaly skeptics can wiff of that self same dung. Its keeping that in mind which will ultimately keep skeptics and believers alike, on a path of knowledge and advancement , rather the path of dogma and mistrust.

thanks friend. Yes, I do meet nine out of ten of the criteria of a forum troll, and believe I've learned what I know by years of experience in online forums. But there's a difference between me and the average "mrmask" type troll. I will admit I am one, and I do not care if that damages my cred, because it is true in my case. I am not being paid to lie, as are some. I am not being paid ot conceal or derail certain key, specific ideas. Some are. My point about the mods here is that I have no point. I hope they don't ban me, afterall I'm a terirble coward when it comes to clinging to my first ammendment "right" (however vapid and unreal it seems). I came here to meet people and make friends.
