my first website...please help

Hello BtS,
Just finished creating my first website and was looking for a lil help.
here it is

It feels really bland to me and im trying to get some ideas that would give it a bit more punch but stay classy.

Also I was drying to mess around with photoshop and search for pictures online for a nice graphic including hands and energy but I failed miserably. Its a pretty clean site and I think something like this would be a little much for the current look.


Any help with design and logo ideas would be amazing. I would be happy to trade some reiki as well!

I actually like the look of the site, its crisp, clean and not cluttered as many seem to be these days.

Have you considered going down doing Joomla templates? Although Joomla CMS needs to be installed, purchasing artisteer makes some kick a$$ templates for joomla, wordpress, dotnetnuke, and drupal, other forms of CMS.

let me know how you progress.

EDIT: Do you do distance reiki do you??? how you planning on doing hands on with other ats members?

Actually, that is a very professional looking site.

If anything, what I would change would be the font from below the Einstein quote to something a little "softer" like tahoma.

But all in all, it's very good.

Edit to add: just because it is a healing site and a more rounded font gives a more "healing" impression than sharp corners.

To be honest I have no idea what a joomala template is or most of what you said lol. I used weebly to create it which is pretty much drag and drop. I have no comp language skills whatsoever. And to answer your question, yes, I do do distance reiki sessions and would be happy to do one for you if you would like.

Well lets start in what Joomla is... its a CMS otherwise known as a Content Management System, check out www.joomla.org

Artisteer designs the templates for joomla, you can check out my site HERE that is a template i've designed ontop of Joomla CMS...

Your design looks nice! I guess weebly kind of acts as a content manager. I just drag and drop whatever I need. I also use google analytics to track data. Im a noob though so joomla kinda seems out of my league.

As far as the reiki, you dont have to do anything, just sit back and relax. I will send as soon as i finish this reply, I usually spend 15 mins unless some requests longer on a distance treatment. Enjoy

I'm actually going to be doing neurofeedback on monday, booked myself in for 30 sessions, i hear it cures nearly all forms of disorders......

All sent. Part of what I was taught was not to diagnose anything. People can do all sorts of things to themselves just by thinking negatively. If i tell you i "felt" something you may say uh oh and start willing something into existence. Generally I do the treatment and ask how you feel. If you didnt feel anything thats fine, I didnt when I had it done. Reiki works in mysterious ways, I hope all goes well for you!

Actually just a few minutes before i read that recent post i felt tingling in my crown chakra area.... can you u2u me whatever else you found, i don't mind whatever you have to tell me I've heard worst of the worst and best of the best, so nothing will phase me

Your site looks pretty good to me for a first timer.

Maybe you could add one of those flash music players that automatically start up when one comes to your site.

Some nice Reiki music.I here that a lot when I go to sites like yours.

Know of any good ones? Sometime going to sites with music can be annoying if your not suspecting it but i guess if the volume was real low it could be cool.

He also does New Agey music.It is very cool.I will try to find it but you could do a search and see what comes up.His music is down loadable so maybe you could ask him if you could use it and link to his site to yours.

He seems to be a cool guy.And since you two are on opposites coasts you are not competition.

That's what I was going to suggest. Something with colors that makes the page come alive and gives that WOW factor. I love the tree photo, but I would it make it larger and fill more of the page with it. Much luck in your healing endeavors!

I have been looking through the different templates that Weebly has. I went with white because it was so soothing and thats what I was going for but I agree. I was also looking for some pictures to put up also...any suggestions or anything come to mind for a reiki site?

Thanks to all for the suggestions, any ideas to grab attention on the first half of the top page...i think theres too much text.

Still looking for suggestions/improvements if anyone is feeling helpful today.

Do you feel like reiki was explained in a way that makes sense?

Are you left with any questions unanswered?

Do the pics make the reiki room look peaceful and relaxing so you would want to come in for a treatment?
