VIENNA (Reuters) - The U.N. nuclear watchdog fears Iran may be working now to develop a nuclear-armed missile, the agency said on Thursday, throwing independent weight behind Western suspicions of an active Iranian weapons program.

I fear this is going the same way as Iraq, when everyone was saying there were WMD, only to find there were not, I don't understand how a group or organisation can have fears about a program when they don't have access to information from within the country, Is this not just speculation? It seems to me TPTB are looking for any excuse they can to push the issue with Iran, and the obvious fear is War. My main problem with the entire things is why can't Iran have its own nuke program, when so many countries around the world have theirs he UK, and US included? are they not free to do as they see fit, especially if it is to make cheaper, cleaner energy for their population? as they have insisted this is what their program is all about. Still at the end of the day, this is all hear say, there is no physical evidence that Iran is making a weapon.

I agree. They are trying everything to push a war with Iran. It's soooo sad. Even if Iran did develop a nuke, they more than likely wouldn't use it anyways, knowing full well what the retaliation would be. If anything, it would be to thwart an attack from israel. If every country in the world had nukes, it may lead to peace as no one would want to attack the other for fear of being obliterated.

I would like to know why this thread disappeared within a few hours, yet others covering the same subject matter sprung up after this one was posted, is there some kind of conspiracy happening right here on ATS? preventing freedom of speech? is it because my views are not against the Iranian people and for the American Government and the lies we are told to believe, I am interested to know, maybe its because i am English and ATS is predominantly American? I don't know but i would like an Answer please.
