Cancerous Condoms

I was looking at Rense.com and found the following story:

What is unclear...is whether this carcinogen caused damage to men or women exposed to these condoms. I wonder if this is propaganda intended to put people off birth control.

Any thoughts?

There's a risk in everything we do.

There is no need to stop wearing condoms. The risk of cancer from this is so small. This article shows the amount of N-nitrosamines abosorbed in a lifetime of a condom wearer to be minute.

Ehhh... let's talk relative risk, here.

The cancer risk is pretty small (how many guys in the porn industry die from genital cancer? (a serious question, really, since condom use is mandated after a number of actors developed AIDS or HIV))

The risk of an unwanted pregnancy, death of the woman (complications from pregnancy), abortion, etc, etc, are MUCH (much!) higher than the risk (if any) of cancer.

You might get cancer if you never took it off. But then, you would deserve it.
