Utah delivers vote of no confidence for 'climate alarmists' The US's most Republican state passes bill disputing science of climate change, claiming emissions are 'essentially harmless'

www.guardian.co.uk

Carbon dioxide is "essentially harmless" to human beings and good for plants. So now will you stop worrying about global warming?

Utah's House of Representatives apparently has at least. Officially the most Republican state in America, its political masters have adopted a resolution condemning "climate alarmists", and disputing any scientific basis for global warming.

Okay, you can all relax, climate change is now illegal in Utah. That was a close one, thankfully cooler heads have prevailed and the wise elected officials of Utah have stopped climate change dead in its tracks.

The original version of the bill dismissed climate science as a "well organised and ongoing effort to manipulate and incorporate "tricks" related to global temperature data in order to produce a global warming outcome". It accused those seeking action on climate change of riding a "gravy train" and their efforts would "ultimately lock billions of human beings into long-term poverty".

In the heat of the debate, the representative Mike Noel said environmentalists were part of a vast conspiracy to destroy the American way of life and control world population through forced sterilisation and abortion.

Other jurisdictions are expected to follow this precedent. California may consider outlawing earthquakes in urban areas because of their negative economic impact.

Wow, I never really cared much about Utah, but now I want to move there. They should pass a resolution that Al Gore is not allowed to step foot in their border.

Its good that States/People are waking up and realizing this whole "globalwarming" thing was BS. Man Made global warming is hogwash, it was just a tool to make people very very rich. Al Gore can now scheme a way to make money off the global cooling we have been having since 95.

Who? And how? Are you saying that the entire scientific community (who get payed peanuts, for the most part, by the way) made all of the last 30-40 years of data up for the sole benefit of Al Gore and a couple electric car designers?

Who has more to gain/lose from this filthy little environmental war that's going on? The scientific community (most of whom genuinely care about their field of study, or else they would never have put in the time necessary to get their degree) or the oil companies that are behind the American Right Wing, as ever?

You don't find it odd that the oil companies align themselves with the very same politicians that are pushing this anti-climate-change agenda? You don't find it odd that all the so-called "findings" of the anti-climate-change movement support continued fossil fuel use?

The tactic is a distraction, as well. Even if man-made climate change wasn't true, the pollutants in question would still be bad for the environment, and the changes and innovations suggested by the legitimate scientific community should be adopted.

Remember, burning fossil fuels don't just give off CO2, they give off solid carbon as well, in huge amounts. These emissions cause a plethora of problems, including chronic illnesses in humans.

There's plenty of reason to want to change our ways, and the only people against it are those with a monetary stake in maintaining the status quo, and the people they've duped.

Many of these so called scientists are also extremely hard core liberals, and all belong to the same club. They are trying to substantiate climate falsehoods because if they dont, and the climate mongers see this, then they lose their research grants and get fired from jobs etc. Al gore watches quite closely for anyone that doesn't support his lies and is also on any federal funding for whatever... they lose funding and jobs. When you follow the money trail with global warming you see a lot of folks that were not so rich that are now pretty darn rich from this epic fail debacle. And when their plan was working they got bolder and bolder, and then careless... Ooooops! busted!

Good for Utah.

Hopefully more states will follow.

The top industries in the world. And by eliminating their competition.

Have you seen how our leaders are trying to cope with this issue that they themselves have been pushing since the 1970s? They issue heavy taxes on polluting industries and require them to reduce pollution unless they buy "carbon credits" that go partially to a former UN head who resigned amidst the oil-for-food scandal (Maurice Strong) and the taxes would go to the World Bank, as per the document they drafted in Copenhagen.

Global warming is total trash. Even if the world is warming up, we had an ice age in the past you know. This stuff happens. The effect cause by man is insignificant. There is no evidence that CO2 emissions by humans is causing warming, and for god's sake we have freaking already caught them cooking the books trying to manipulate climate data to push this garbage.
