NDE Experiencer Howard Storm was given a vision "That the US Economy will Collapse into Chaos"

Before his near-death experience, Rev. Howard Storm, a Professor of Art at Northern Kentucky University, was not a very pleasant man. He was an avowed atheist and was hostile to every form of religion and those who practiced it. He often would use rage to control everyone around him and he didn't find joy in anything. Anything that wasn't seen, touched, or felt, he had no faith in. He knew with certainty that the material world was the full extent of everything that was. He considered all belief systems associated with religion to be fantasies for people to deceive themselves with. Beyond what science said, there was nothing else.

Howard Storm's near-death experience
On June 1, 1985, at the age of 38, Howard Storm had a near-death experience due to a perforation of the stomach and his life was forever changed. His life was so immensely changed after his near-death experience that he resigned as a professor and devoted his time to attending the United Theological Seminary to become a United Church of Christ minister.


My Descent Into Death Howard Storm In Howard Storm's book, My Descent into Death (2000), he describes the future of mankind as given to him by angels he encountered during his NDE in 1985. Storm wrote how they told him, in 1985, that the Cold War would soon end, because "God is changing the hearts of people to love around the world." Storm states, "Since the time in 1985 when I was told these things about the future the Cold War ended with little bloodshed due to the hearts of people being unwilling to tolerate oppressive regimes."

Storm described what the angels told him concerning the way things will be on Earth in future: "God is changing the world now. God wants worldwide conversion. God is going to awaken every person to be the person he or she was created to be. Those who accept God's will shall flourish and those who deny God's love shall perish. He asked the angels the question: "Will the United States be the leader of the world in this change?"

The angels replied:
"The United States has been given the opportunity to be the teacher for the world, but much is expected of those to whom much has been given. The United States has been given more of everything than any country in the history of the world and it has failed to be generous with the gifts. If the United States continues to exploit the rest of the world by greedily consuming the world's resources, the United States will have God's blessing withdrawn. Your country will collapse economically which will result in civil chaos. Because of the greedy nature of the people, you will have people killing people for a cup of gasoline. The world will watch in horror as your country is obliterated by strife. The rest of the world will not intervene because they have been victims of your exploitation. They will welcome the annihilation of such selfish people. The United States must change immediately and become the teachers of goodness and generosity to the rest of the world. Today the United States is the primary merchant of war and the culture of violence that you export to the world. This will come to an end because you have the seeds of your own destruction within you. Either you will destroy yourselves or God will bring it to an end if there isn't a change."

The U.S. has been given the opportunity to be the peacemaker of the world. With the medical, agricultural, manufacturing, and scientific knowledge, the U.S. could teach less fortunate countries how to give to every person food, clothing, housing, medical care, education, and economic prosperity. The U.S. has the power to help every person in the world access clean water and hygenic waste disposal. There are millions of people in the world dying for lack of things people in the U.S

I guess it is with great irony that the party most aligned with religion is also the party that rejects the basic concepts highlighted by this chap. I often wonder how one can be pro-capitalist in a pure sense and also consider themselves christian...

But what do I know...I am just some weird agnostic whom subscribes to this clearly delusional man's vision of how things "should" be...not because God will give us a spanking if we dont, but because it just seems like the right (and unpopular) thing to do.


I wonder if the mythical judgement day did come to pass, if a biblical God would be more forgiving of someone like me, whom disbelieved in his book but tended to follow most of the relevant teachings laid out, or one whom truely believed in his book, but disregarded all the teachings within the book.

I personally have no problem with God or Jesus...but man do they attract some wacky fans.

Saturnfx, I'm proud to be a wierdo just like you. You're right about the "christian" right in this country. We have been blessed beyond our dreams yet we are never satisfied. Nevermind prophecy, anyone can see that this train can't roll forever on the same track. We WILL run out of resources eventually and then what?
We could and should do much better about helping our fellow man both here in the US and abroad. Jesus was NOT a capitalist, I'm pretty sure of that.

I am not sure why the angels care so much about our politics. But if he says he had a vision - I guess we can't really refute that. Oddly enough, however, my wife had a dream several months before 9/11 that the Statue of Liberty was crumbling. It was odd because she has never been to NY and really does not care anything about politics or geography or history, etc. So I do believe dreams can be suggestive (I understand this man is talking about a vision - but whatever).

I will not attempt to counter the angels' views on things, however, which I disagree with.

however, the OP speaks with angels and i agree with him totally. the US is on a steep slippery slide.

I am bumping a near 3 year old thread to highlight a very important point brought about from a person's NDE that fits where we are at to the T.

Sounds about right but I don't think anything could be set in stone, the outcome is uncertain and no one can predict what will happen. This was a warning.

I often think about how at just over 300 million the US population is quite small compared to other countries of the same size apart from Australia which mostly inhabitable. Just a couple of months ago 600 million in India were without power for a lengthy period of time.

I would agree that there's lots of selfish Americans but the point about the selfishness of the nation when you lot give out more in foreign aid than probably most other countries doesn't seem to gel with this narrative at all.

would someone please explain how an "atheist" sees angels or god figures (that which they do not believe exist) at all ??

while i agree with the message, i do have to question the messenger.

how would an atheist recognize an angel anyway ??
do they wear neon signs or something ??

what if he was really visited by a demon ?
how would an atheist know or recognize the difference ??

believe it or not, Mr Storm wasn't the first to receive such a vision and i assure you, he won't be the last.
