I'm from Oz and I'm sitting in it right this minute just as I've been doing for over 60 years. From my earliest forays into the world of maps and atlases to the present nothing has changed apart from borders shifting, country/state creation and country name alterations. All the land masses are exactly where they always were in relation to one another. Being an isolated place (even moreso in the mid 20th century due to communications) we had a lot of interest in other places on the globe and maybe studied the atlas more eagerly than our north hemisphere counterparts.

Unless the supposed timeline shift occurred over 60 years ago or it selectively affected a small number of people only, I'm going for faulty memory as the most plausible explanation.

I do believe we are discussing what our memories tell us of maps we have seen in the past compared to what the maps show now. Not actual eye witness of the area.

and to Pilgrum:

or it selectively affected a small number of people only

That is exactly what we are saying, the reason some people see a change and others don't, because it happens randomly to individuals not enmass to all.
And of course all maps young and old are going to prove us wrong because if one did somehow change timelines/dimensions then the maps we remember are in the old timeline.

Check some of the other threads about this, most are willing to admit that some differences can be attributed to faulty memory and/or faulty maps, but when the difference is a huge leap from what one remembers, specially to those with really good memories, then it is worthy of mention and speculation.

It is one of those subjects that either grab your attention because you feel it has happened to you, or you find completely baffling and can't understand what we are on about.

If latter is the case then please go to a subject you do comprehend.

You'll get no disagreement from me on that statement. It all comes down to memory of a map seen at an early age and how much attention to detail was being paid at the time, the difference between a casual browse at an early age and a more detailed study over a longer period of time driven by a healthy interest in the subject.

I don't find it baffling, I understand what you're on about and it does grab my attention or I wouldn't bother posting my thoughts on the matter. It has the making of some great fiction.

But just to be on the safe side
Welcome to my world all you visitors from an alternate reality

1. Is Sonny Bono alive/dead ? alive
2. On what date did the World Trade Centre attack take place ? 9th September 2001
3. Which one of the Apollo moon missions was the 1st to land on the moon ? Apollo 11
4. What date did the 1st moon landing take place ? don't know
5. Who was the 1st man to step onto the moons surface ? Neil Armstrong
6. What were the names of the crew involved in the 1st moon landing ? Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin
7. Is John Fitzgerald Kennedy alive/dead ? dead
8. If J. F. kennedy is dead, what was the cause of death ? Killed by a Sniper
9. Which was the 1st city to have an atomic bomb used against it ? Hiroshima
10. In which country was this unfortunate city located ? Japan
11. On what date was that nuclear bomb dropped on that city ? don't know
12. In which month & year did WWII end ? month: don't know year: 1947

I thought D-Day was 1945. Hitler came to power in 1937. I coulda sworn ww2 took about 3 years.

I always thought Australia was further south west. New Zealand was South Eastish. But not as far as it is now. It was not as close to Australia. Australia was wider. And there was a small chain of Islands (little broken up ones) north of Australia

Soony Bono is dead -- he ran into a tree skiing at Heavenly Valley a few years ago. Please tell me I'm right about this, because if not, I will hide my head and cry.

Curiosity brings me to this thread from time to time. I'm intrigued by the way so many people are identifying 1947 as the end of World War 2, even if they agree with conventional history in other ways. I've had a suspicion about a possible reason for this, and I think I've tracked it down.
The culprit could be the Cold War. For example, there's an article on Wikipedia relating to the Cold War, which describes it as beginning in 1947 (the Truman Doctrine) "almost immediately after the end of World War 2".
It is roughly true that the Cold War followed on from the end of WW2 (in Stalin's mind, they seem to have overlapped). If you know this, and you're also told that the Cold War began in 1947, that would affect your assumptions about the other date.

Ve day( victory in Europe ) was May 8th 1945
VJ day ( victory in the Pacific) was in 1947
Therefore WWII did in fact run from 1939 t0 1947 (at least in my timeline anyway)

Edit to add
just checked wiki and found out I'm completely wron as VJ day was August 15 1945 ???

The first time I read this thread I was kinda skeptical
of the timeline shifts. Then this week it happened to me.
So I can no longer ignore it or call these folks crazy
when I've experienced it myself. So here goes.

well I did what the OP asked and tried to debunk myself
but I just could not. I believe that I have experienced
a timeshift as well. Well 3 to be exact, one on sunday,
one on monday and one on tuesday. At first I thought
I was going crazy but I remembered this thread and decided
to share my shifts here.

1) Sunday afternoon
I was sitting in my recliner watching the tube and had to go
pee, so I got up and went. Came back and sit down and it wasn't
2 minutes when I realized I had to go again, just like I had never
went the first time. I find this unusual cuz I have fairly good kidneys
and this has never happened before so I went the 2nd time and
expelled just about the same amount as I did the first time. Between
the 2 trips, I must have expelled a half gallon. It was like my time
line shifted backwards a few minutes. And to top off the incident
I saw the very same commercials during those 2-3 minutes on the
tube. It was like in a 2 minute loop. Freaky stuff!!!

2) Monday afternoon
I was hungry so I got up and went to the kitchen to get me a
sandwich. I saw my dirty coffee cup in the sink from where I
had my morning coffee and decided to wash it and put it in
the drainer so I could use it again tomorrow morning. I washed
it and put it in the drainer, then made a sandwich and went back
and sit down. I went back to the kitchen several hours later and
found my coffee cup dirty in the sink again. I know I didn't use it
cuz I only drink coffee when I first get up, never in the afternoon.
It was as if that minute that I had spent washing the cup had
vanished.

3) Tuesday afternoon
I was in the process of taking a shower, shaving and changing
clothes when the phone rang. I could not get to the phone
so I let the machine pick it up while I continued getting
dried off and dressed. I went to check my messages and there
was none. I then looked back over the call history on the phone
and saw where my friend had called me at 3:12 pm. I returned
his call and asked him what he needed and he said he never called
me. I told him his number came up on the caller ID with the time
and he laughed at me and thought I was delusional. The reason
why this incident is so important is because it was the first time
a shift occurred which included more than one person.

So now I'm thinking I need to see a shrink
any thoughts anyone??? help????
Is anyone else having these types of events??
Please share.

In my view the world map has changed a lot.

1. South America has moved east and are now closer to Africa

2. Cuba, Bahamas.. has moved North West

3. Hudson Bay has grown in size and is now a huge ocean

4. Greenland is closer to Canada

5. Iceland is bigger

6. Denmark moved East and is now closer to sweden

7. England has moved south and is now very close to France

8. Sicilia has grown in size and has moved east and is now only
3 kilometer from the mainland Italy (fascinating)

9. Africa has grown and moved North(Look at the "Strait of Gibraltar"
how narrow it is now)

10. Madagascar has move North

11. Japan has moved North

12. The whole South East Asia has changed in size. It all seems bigger
and all the islands has moved South East

13. Australia has moved a lot North West. Australian had much more vegetation, the desert where much smaller and concentrated in the middle of the country. Australian where also surrounded by a huge ocean on all sides and was not even close to Papua New Guinea.

14. New Zealand has moved South(used to be just North East of
Australia and much closer than now)

15. Tasmania has grown in size(i think, can't ever remember seeing it
there before)

16. The Antartica has grown and seems to be closer to South America.

and this is my memories of the world layout.

I've always read these threads with great interest..
Being an Aussie, i have always known NZ to be east of Aus - however i seem to remember it being a lot closer to Aus than it actually is.

I also thought that Mandela died in the 80's and can vaugley remember news stories about it on TV.

And I had always thought that WW2 ended in '47. Weird.

I had one of those "backwards" slips tonight.... two days ago, I had very briefly seen the ATS headline about the bomb exploding, and had tried to click on the thread. It disappeared completely, and I couldn't find it again... until tonight. AHA, I thought, there's that darned thread...

When I clicked on it, I found out the event happened this morning! The news confirms this.

I also had the same thing happen with a text message last week. I read the message and replied to it, and didn't get another text in return. I then got the same text 15 minutes later.

My friend who sent it only sent it once, at the later time. Her phone records and mine both indicate only one call, at 3:35 p.m. But the message I sent in reply to it was sent at 3:17...

Other people I know are experiencing this too.

i had a really weird experience today....

so i woke up. the clock read 10 am. I had to go somewhere at 1 pm so i was making sure id wake up around 11. I slowly was falling asleep and waking up until the clock hit about 10:40 am.

Then suddenly i woke up and it was 9 am....
and i started doing it all over again until 11 am and i finally woke up.

Also, we where driving to a familiar plaza and i swear two stores completely switched places. Sports Chalet moved a few buildings down, replacing i think a macy's or something, and a trader joe's(which i have never seen in that area before) ended up in the spot where sports chalet used to be.
It was very weird to say the least.
