Information like this one, unappropriately "disclosed" in this fashion by an unofficial individual is usually mistranslated or distorted at best, sometimes it's purposely misleading. Turkey has nuclear weapons on its soil, american nuclear weapons You will find US bombs in other NATO members, namely Belgium, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. Turkey Air force pilots are trained to deliver them jointly with US pilots.

Yeah, what he said. The article is actually quite clear they are US nuclear weapons. Turkey doesn't even have an operational reactor within it's borders, let alone the ability to manufacture weapons.

Nothing new there, back in 1961-63 Turkey had "One squadron totaling 15 missiles was deployed at 5 sites near İzmir, Turkey from 1961 to 1963. They were operated by U.S. Air Force personnel. Under the NATO Treaty, member states do have the option of nuclear weapons-provided by another member state. Correct me, if I am wrong, but I believed West Germany opted out of providing a shelter from American nuclear weapons.

The US base of Ramstein has tactical nuclear bombs, same as those in Turkey. Luftwaffe can deliver them.

These weapons are not Turkish and the Turks can not possibly use them in an independent capacity .

On another note , it would take about 2 years for Turks to build their own .

If not longer. They're first commercial reactor isn't due for operation until 2015 and I don't even think this is capable of making weapons grade fuel anyway.

For a moment I really started worrying (Greek myself).

But yeah, actually they are US missiles stationed there.

Turks have the technology to make these bombs but I do not think they are going to make anything .

No, they don't. Point me to a source that shows me a working reactor in Turkey capable of producing fuel and then show me another source that they have a facility for enrichment to weapons grade. Then show me a source showing they have another faciltiy for the shaping and construction of this material into a viable warhead. Such an infrastructure is hard, if not impossible, to keep secret.

Also, for the Greeks here, don't forget Turkey is a NATO member, as is Greece. I doubt either side will ever go to War again, especially considering their EU application too.

I never said that I'm worried that Turkey would attack Greece, lol. I just posted what I read and was looking for a good conversation.
