You are marooned on a desert island. Food and water is available.

There is no chance of discovery or rescue.

You have a companion of the opposite sex. You find him/her repulsive....both in looks and ideals.

If you off'd them no one would ever know....(depending on your belief system that is)

Could you find a way to love them?

I think such a question truly depends on the two people involved. I mean there are so many factors to consider, it could go so many different ways...

But I would like to think that I would try get along and find something in common, but who knows. Luckily I have never been marooned on anything and hopefully I wont have to be.

Now you are asking if I would kill them... No. Not because they are different, or are not attractive or have different beliefs or what have you....


If you go killing any one who is different than you, you are going to be doing a lot of killing....

No I would not take his/her life as long as there was no intended threat.

I have love for many repulsive looking people. They are what they are.

We would need to have much discussion about ideals.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the definition of "off'd" than splitting the island into his and hers isn't quite the same thing... However, it just might save someone's sanity and prevent a pseudo-lord of the flies scenario (which should be avoided at all costs) I would think. Right?

Fine. You're right. I would try to get along. Who knows? Besides, it would seriously be really bad to be on an island, alone, forever.

All I can say is I'd start swimming while singing that song from Finding Nemo "just keep swimming" until I hit exhaustion and gave in to the bleak sea...Yes I'd off myself...ASAP! Also I'd be crying,for my lousy misfortune!!!

if it was my opposite sex it would be a woman so no because i just dont believe in hitting women and i believe anybody could be loved overtime when someones real personality comes out...i dont know about sex and all that but i could live on the sland with a friend why not and if i needed sexual relief i think we all know how that is gonna get done........lol .

I actually think that in time, the person will become to love them....if they live that long. There is usually a need to talk to someone and so on, so eventually you'll have to resort to talk.

And if there is any humanity left in the person, you would obviously help them. I mean, your only 2 people.

And if their repulsive - it could be possible to change their personality? For the good? Maybe? Or if they are like some of the people that I know - leave them, until they come begging for help. Haha.

There are some people who's paths I've crossed that I've found repulsive - I don't me ugly repulsive I mean they bother me in my soul like they're an alien species that wants to swallow my soul ( ED) or something. Regardless I'd find a way to get along with anyone and nearly everyone alive has some good qualities. Besides when I die it would be nice to have someone there rather than the alternative.

My reply would have been similar to BlackPoison 94's until I remembered my ex-housemate.

I don't think I'd have much trouble in letting him struggle on alone (he's completely useless) until he managed to off himself.

I don't think it would take long, but it would be very entertaining to watch. I still remember the screams that used to come from the kitchen when he was trying to burn err... cook toast

Anyone else, I would try to get along with. Everyone has their good points and strengths. It would be better to co-operate and find a way to live together.

Yep. I think eventually I would cave in and try to find some redeeming qualities....however hard that may be. Who knows? They might feel the same way about me.
