Back in 1983, I had the opportunity to travel highly secure bases mainly Air force bases to install flooring many thanks to the current administration funding of base upkeep.

Not many at the time knew what all went on at the base in Warner Robbins Georgia but, they were the central location for "Electronics Warfare". Highly secure and you didn't go any where without an armed escort.

The type of boss I had back then was the type that did not believe in having lunch and you will work until the job is done. After the job was finished he sprang for dinner. After, being in the "Electronics Warfare building all day since 5:30 am and 5 clearance badges clipped along my shirt and having an armed escort following me around the day turned unto night and guard change was starting as we were told to wait in the van until after change. It is 11:30 pm and my boss which is less desired to be intelligent and patient decides to make us all go back to work and carry a 600 pound carpet up the elevator. Needless to say he pushes the wrong button and we are moving this heavy roll of carpet through a floor we were not authorized to be on.

It was the Laser Technology branch which, I knew we never crossed this area before, They had a project going on that used what you see now around welding areas to block off intense UV light to prevent vision damage. As we got closer this tubed shaped object that was made to be fitted on a wing of a fighter jet was suddenly fired off. The thing put a hole into which I am guessing to be at the least 10 inch thick metal plate, nor sure if it was armored plate or what type of metal. It has put a huge hole in the plate with a second. It made a ear aching pitch when was fired off. Before, we knew we were spotted and the guards came.

In short, until 4 am we were detained then released after signing a sworn to secrecy document which looked like a W-2 form at that time. It was very brief, but each of us being called in and questioned was not. I quit the job after that. But, it never stopped me from questioning and seeking. I am well out of the restriction now (Twelve Years) but I have never found any declassified info on it. That is the only above top secret thing I have ever had on a first hand account. I was supposed to have went to a nuke base next to lay carpet but that incident sparked me to quit hehee

Seriously? They have that almost ready to make and people aren't freaking out about it?

If only because of the assassination potential, put in on a few satellites and you have a system of instant death on demand.

The one, I saw was likely no more than 4 to 5 feet long. it was not truly a big cylinder but the way the housing was made it was obviously fitted to fit on fighter aircraft.

I really do not know what all projects went on at the base as I was not supposed to even witness that. The areas I was cleared for had 80 to 100 people soldering components on a board. Which is still used for many reasons since using wave soldering is regarded to have too many contaminants. Soldering military components require them to be done by hand. They have certification tests for soldering at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, which some how Warner and Redstone are linked on projects.
