Here is my view of the Shuttle Launch early this morning from my balcony!!! I live about 20-25mins max from the Space Center. I zoomed in about half
way and I probably should have zoomed out less but it's still pretty good Ignore my commentary lol it was early!! My friend at the Space
Center was keeping me updated all night with status reports, he works on the shuttle and writes many of the programs for it. When I see him next I
will get the patches and pins and stuff they get from the Astronauts for the launch. I am making a little shadow box with all the memorabilia he and
my other friend have been giving me in regards the shuttle program.
this took me forever to upload it actually drove me insane for about an hour!!! I wasnt able to do it on ATS because it said I was missing a
plug-in WHICH I installed but it still says it's missing. I winded up using youtube for it instead. So any help on the media section would be
great!
Hope you like the video
Here is a thread in which you can see in the daylight the view I have. I circled the assembly building in a few pics....It obviously looks much
closer in person than in a picture.

Awesome. You had an epic view!
Hey! yeah I like my view. It will suck when it doesnt go up anymore Now I will record the rest of them that go up. Hopefully next time I can be
there. I was supposed to be there but it didnt go up the other night and I knew it wasnt going to go up then so I didnt get to go to the viewing area.
I didnt have the opportunity to go to the viewing site this morning but I still had a good view.
I actually thought of doing something like that since I can see the last 5 or so....and hopefully for the next launches I will be there. My friend is
gonna get me passes now for the launches so I can be there.
I am so jealous. To be able to roll out of bed and see this while still wearing your pajamas is so cool.
I have never seen a shuttle launch, have seen a few others but not the shuttle. On my list of things to do this year, and I know I have to hurry
because they only have a few more flights.
Quick question, about how far are you from the pad (as the crow flies) and can you hear it launch as well? (I couldn't tell from the vid)
I tried but it says I am missing plug ins. I installed the plug ins and it wont work. I dont know how to fix it. I wanted to have it on here not
youtube but that was the only place it worked
Yeah I like my view. I have been very lucky to live so close to the Space Center. The first launch I ever saw was the Challenger when I was little. I
have seen every launch that has gone up. Sometimes you forget it's even going up until right before because you get use to it and it you arent paying
attention you just dont know. It's not like people who live far away and come here just to see it, as a local this close many take the view for
granted just like the ocean being right there.
And I was in my pjs all bundled up it was cold at this time here and the wind was bad too.
I will check and see how far I am...
I am about 25 miles or so from there. It takes about 20 mins or so to get to where you can view the shuttle. Its literally the next street up and
over for about 20mins to 25mins depending on traffic.. I cant get into the launch pad area, nobody can without passes and those are only for those who
work there usually and their families. I can see the assembly building and the pads from my balcony. You can see them lit up at night. Binoculars are
great too! I can also see the Port where all the ships come in, those are nicely lit up as well.
You have some nice views I would love to see everyday. I myself am jealous of those who have the Eiffel Tower as their daily backyard view. I do enjoy
being able to see all launches from the Space Center. I watch the rockets when I can but I always watch the Shuttle. Its hectic here when the shuttle
goes up, we get slammed with tourists. It really does bring in a lot money in the area and when it is gone many will be hurt by it.
What a view you have! Update us when you have it on the media portal. I think it's pretty cool that you have the patches and pins that go along
with the missions, too.
Yeah I thought something too then when I looked at it, it's from my camera no ETs observing lol I will definitely be UFO hunting now that i have a
camcorder lol It's always with me too as well as fresh batteries incace.lol My luck I iwll see something and the batteries will be dead...

I have it on the media portal but I cant figure out how to embed it. I have it in the OP but it's just a link to it in the media section.
Yeah I like getting the patches and stuff. I will see one of the guys today and he will be bringing me some stuff too! The other guy I wont see til
Saturday.
