Yes...I'm creating a database of nicknames of ATS members...because that would be so valuable.

I was actually thinking the same thing!

errrm, my position on this would be I spend a fair old bit of time on this site and people have known (weather they care to remember is their business) some details about me such as the city I live in, various other things.

Now it's not inconceivable that a cross reference can be made from a nickname, so if some girl remembers that that group called me big daddy then all could become clear that my real and actual identity is Robbie Williams...

So yhea, a nick name could in one or two cases be the straw that broke the anonymous's camels back.

But I don't mind anyone calling me bigdaddy!

I was raised with a nickname.
I won't mention what it is but I still get called by it to this day.
Thru my teens I tried hard to lose it because I wanted to be called by my name but eventually I just gave up and am still called by my nickname today.
When I facebook people I usually have to use my nickname in my message so they know its me.
I have 1 nephew and even he calls me Uncle (nickname)
Ah well what can you do??

Here is a strange one. During my entire youth and my 20 year military career my friends all called me by the 3 letter short version of my name.

After I retired and joined another organization one of my co-workers started calling me the juvenile version of my name, you know like Billy,Johnny, Joey etc.

Then every one did.It drove me nuts. I was 40 years old for gosh sakes and everybody was calling me a kids name.

The strange thing is only ONE person ever called me that name.My Grandmother who had just died.

For some reason up until I went to uni I was known as 'Robbo'. Such a lovely, feminine sounding nickname.. but now its just a shorter version of my actual name.
Oh and not really a nickname, but I still get referred to as the baby of the family, even though Im nearly 23 and there's plenty of younger cousins/nephews/nieces to take over that one.
And because Im the youngest of my brothers and sisters, if I ever get introduced to someone its 'this is my baby sister'. :bash:

I always say I have more nicknames than a felon...lol

Paris: My alter ego at work and a life long nickname because of my love of Paris, France.

Jager *itch: I drink more jager than anyone I know so I have been nicknamed this for it.

Natasha: This is my "Russian" alter ego when I wear a short black wig and use a Russian accent...lol seriously people have been convinced I am Russian...it always helps to know a little Russian too!

Brokeback Paris: I have bad back problems and this came out at work as a nickname and it stuck.....lol when it was first said I almost died of laughter as did everyone else.

and I have a few others that might violate terms and conditions...lol

Eric or Eka-p have been my nicknames.

Well my Dad is the only1 that calls me Eka-p. Im 35yrs and he still calls me it.

Eric is my universal nickname. Iv been called this by every1 of my mates since primary school. In fact now it seems wierd if I`m called by my real name.

I am female and my ex-boyfriend has had some strange looks from his mates when we were 1st together, when he`d say love you Eric, bye!

My daughters nickname is... Squidley, hence my user name.
That derived from a number of previous nicknames she had.
It went from Kid to Skid then Squid. Then to Squidley, but it still does get shortened to squid...

I love nicknames, they`r endearing and more personal than a name, as they`r usually used by people that are close to you. I intrduce myself as Eric Im so used to it...

Some people are easier to nickname then others. I take it as a compliment, people want to give you a pet name, and associate things with you.

My last name has a funny and very unique pronounciation. So I have quite a few variations over the the years. The big one was Yogi all through middle school, nicknamed by a shop teacher when he heard it when I was being called over the intercom.

So for two years all I heard was hey Yogi, where's boo boo? Are you smarter then the average bear?

My mom always calls me by nicknames, some most pleasant than others. They went from "little chicken" to "little squid" or "tadpole" =_=...
Then I met the internet and I've got a lot of nicknames, mostly japanese animation related (because I was so into that till some years ago). This is a short of my last nickname, Cagalli. It was already registered here and for no way I was going to use my real name (as I do in other forums) here!!
