Hello,
Pretty intriguing. What I get from this is that the messengers sending these messages to us recognize our alphabet, yet don't know how to form words from it. So, no matter what they try to interpret to us, they will fail getting their message across. They could be trying to say "We come in peace." But we could be misinterpretting them and think they are sending coordinates of the places they plan to not land, but invade.

After further study, let me be the one to declare me "silly red-neck!"

Hmm if its coming from outer space, then They might be basing this transmission on the appearance of our earth or solar system, referring to specfic bodies in our solar system, but I don't understand how they wrote down the letters, did it appear on earth-based receiving computers like that or did they analyze the signals based on noise frequency and assigned a letter to it... What? how did they write down these letters?

Maybe that's how they talk, and there is no code to be cracked, maybe it's just a language.

Just a way to convey to an intelligent species that we can communicate using mathematics, really. Basically, if we were to send out this signal, and another race could decipher our maths, we would include some unsolved mathematics, and this intelligent race could potentially prove to us what kind of mathematical understandings they have.

Seems to be a pretty cool little idea...
