Mufon Report

Photo taken with Canon 5D Mark II with Canon 35-350mm "L" Lens tv/av = 30/5.6 Canon AE ISO 200 Time and data are correct at my location. The sky was exceptionally clear even for Buena Vista, CO. Elevation at my home is 9,300 feet. When leaving for the store I noticed this unusual size "star" with a nice mag but thought nothing of it. However, considering the brightness of the moon I took a second look through the lens of the camera. I then took the photo. Then I picked up my binocs and looked at the "stat" again. The item was brightly colored with red/blue. But I wasn't concerned!!! I only thought about the coating on the lenses and the possible effects it would have on the image. Maybe I missed a great opportunity. Now I think I did because I have the 8" telescope and tripods for cameras to record this item. I think I blew it. I picked up the camera and shot additional frames of the sky for test purposes, but I didn't shoot at the image. My intent was to experiment with the camera and lens to actually be able to take a photo of a UFO. I cam back into the house and continued to get ready for my trip to town. I looked up and the item was still in the same place. But, nothing unusual because it seemed very distant. I made my errand and didn't think much about the "star". Last night (Jan30) I began to think about other reports and colors mentioned. So this morning I looked at the frame again. In the image you can see the diagonal light which indicates movement of the camera for .30 sec. Around the frame you will see other diagonal items (stars) which verify the movement. My camera is very heavy for this kind of freehand attempt. The original image was shot in Canon RAW (.CR2). This image is about 20meg in size so a smaller version is uploaded. Download it, blow it up 800% and go figure! I'm not claiming it to be unidentifiable (UFO). I sure has the colors others have mentioned. This is the second report I have submitted in 10 years.

This isn't my sighting, but something I found browsing mufon.

The UFO has nearly every color of the rainbow on it. I am figuring the trail means it had movement, or the footage was very shaky. I'm confused on what it is though, because I have never seen anything like it. It's cool looking though.

Nice find and it's backed up with one heck of a good image taken by someone who obviously knows how to photograph objects in the night sky...

Wow that really is beautiful ... looks kind of 'umbilical' ... be great if any of the resident 'experts' come forward with some explanations.

This is really incredible. First of all, that light ship, if it is one, looks very much the color of the one I saw on July 3rd.

But its that strange energetic rope of color. My friend from Finland had a strange thing occur coming home from work late summer last year. He said the moon looked far too close, and was red. When he got home he grabbed his camera and it was gone, but he took some photos, because the sky was different. On the photos was something that looked identical to that long twisted, almost like a strand of multi colored yarn. Plasma? Living Creature?
I can't post the photos because they're his and would need permission, but I don't think he would give.

But this really opens my eyes big. Is it connected to the craft, or are they transporting this to study? What is at the bottom.

Its the same!

That's odd that he saw the moon like that. Could the image be some sort of sky organism?

It's quite clearly movement of the camera during a lengthened exposure. Notice all the nearly horizontal streaks are the same length, the upward streaks are the same length and the angles between them are identical. The second brightest streak is visible in the surrounding stars as well. The finest steaks are not visible in the surrounding stars. This happens because the other objects in the rest of the frame are not as bright thus do not get sufficient exposure during more rapid motion.

With original sized inlays and enhancements:

This is actually what he speculated on himself. I saw the pictures they were really unusual. It all became a mystery.
