Plane diverted to florida, passenger feared on watch list

www.usatoday.com

law enforcement official says the passenger on a diverted flight was not a match to a person listed on the government's list of suspected terrorists who are banned from flying.
Continental Flight 881 was diverted mid-flight to Jacksonville, Fla., because officials thought one of the passengers might be someone on the government's no-fly list.

What the (snip) is the point of having a "watchlist" if you don't screen the passengers BEFORE they get on a plane?

God these people are really starting to (snip) me off.

And I mean everyone, god damnit!
Who would actually believe this crap?

This is really getting to the point of absurd beyond belief.
Osama Bin Laden is telling the world that Global Warming is America's fault? Bullsh!t! LIE
Corporations are now running for congress?! What the fuc?!

And oh yeah, we have terror watchlists for no-fly persons of interest, but we don't use them.

Dark times ahead, I'm afraid.

Quick, everybody panic, we're now on "Puce Alert" and we'll be flashing Puce Alert symbols across Fox News for days.

This means that someone messed up big time - enough to divert a flight and make national headlines - but because it's to do with OHS stuff, nobody will be reprimanded, talked to sternly, but someone might be 'suspended' for a week with full pay.

Geesh! Either the OHS/TSA do their jobs properly, or let's just get back to when travel was enjoyable and stop playing these games where they pretend we had a very close call so some big company can make a mint out of a new screening device.

i agree, not only do the no fly lists not work but they seem completely random and bogus. children are on the damn thing... the government has the people all up in arms over this crap so every little thing is being scrutinized, everyday it seem you see something in the news about ya know duck hunters closing down nuclear power plants cause some worker got scraed cause he saw camoflauged men with guns in the field or some dude on the toilet for an hr in a plane gets dragged out cause the passengers got all ancy about his diarheaa.... its insanity..

They don't really care who it is that they put on the lists.
In fact, if someone WERE to blow up a plane, they would be happy.

The reason they put people on lists, and they do it by percentages, is to make the people feel intimidated.
This is why children are on there.

Of course, they will also put random Muslims on there because that is the charade they have to keep intact. but other than that, they don't care if it is your grandmother on the list. It is just a number.
Probably somewhere around 10% as that is considered a "tipping point" in statistics.

You do realize the corporations thing was satire, right? If you honestly believe that ad is real, you need to get your head checked.

I said it a couple of years ago, but when we see stuff like this, it really makes me wonder if "terrorism" has won?

I mean think about it . One major part of terrorism is to "instill fear" and make us change our " way of life". so with all these changes like full body scanners, watch lists, carry on rules etc I ask the question.... Have they won?
